  • For those of you who give names to bikes, is your bike male or female?

Does it depend on your gender, that is, if you are a boy, then the bike is a girl and vice versa?

Does your sexual orientation matter? If yes, and you go both ways, then what?

  • I have a Brian Rourke and an Alan, so they are called Alan and Brian, respectively.

I'm a straight male, makes no difference to me.

  • Mrs Glover is a girl.

  • Oh that bike...

  • £1.

  • Two Geoffrey Butlers, one is called Geoffrey, the other is called Mr Butlertron

  • A hot babe I know named her bike Raymond. The notion of Stefanie riding Raymond can get one's imagination to go into overdrive.

*Names above have been changed to protect the individual's privacy.

  • You get off on your mate shagging her bike? You sick fuck!

  • I dont name my bikes but my other half does.

MTB: gay dave. (not really sure why...)
Hybrid: Christine (cos it does what it likes)
road bike: beorn (closest to B1 she could think of)

  • Not literally. I suppose I should have put it in inverted commas. But I'm not objecting to your observation about me.

  • my moser was named nellie by a italian lady i cycle with, dont know why but if she could she would steal it from me ;-)

I'm just yanking your chain, m8. LITERALLY.

  • Fixed Puch - Mr FixUpSkidWipes
Geared 531 - The White Knight

  • not sure if mine is male or female but I ride it hard.....

  • My Trek is a 'he', but my shiny Raleigh single speed conversion is a 'she'. I haven't named them though, that would be going to far in my mind.

    Really?

    Madame Butterfly, then?

  • not sure if mine is male or female but I ride it hard.....

    Words to live by...

I guess you get to a certain point in life where asking about gender and sexuality is just considered being very picky.

    How do i tell?
Is there a hole i stick my finger in like a crocodile?
    It'd be rude to ask,
and if i just assume its guy and hi five his ass, it leads to an awkward situation.

  • not sure if mine is male or female but I ride it hard.....

    No reacharound?

  • Mine have kinda adopted dogs names. Spot (Spot brand), Bob (as in Jackson), and Mongrel (spare parts frankenbike).

I usually refer to using them as 'taking them out for some air'. Now you folks have made it sexual, I feel weird.

  • the green un - definitely a she
the white un - a male mtb
le velo noir - male, very muchly, in a gallic thrusting kind of way, probably has lovers behind my back, etc.,
the purple un - an aging gay male singlespeed mtb, in real life would run a newsagents in kemptown Brighton.
    the strida - neuter
the blue un - transgender to be honest, definitley more feminine in current incarnation that macho origins.
