tl:dr no but seriously, I remember Tropicana when I was a sprog, my parents taking us there and probably getting ill from something in the water. Didn't find time to see Dismaland, but updates every day on facebook was enough I think.
Did you ever sort out the neon light thing? I think even Fiona Banner did some pieces like that way back. I do love Nauman and the Noble/Websters, though.

Ai Wei Wei exhibition at the Royal Academy was pretty much everything you'd want from an exhibition.
-

What, ai Wei wei's not in it?

What's your beef with Ai Wei Wei, eh?

Anyone got any comments on this chap's work? Chrismardon.co.uk
Yes, I'm looking for validation as I just bought the second from left at the top, "Stood by the lake". About three by four feet, acrylic on canvas.
He seems to be finding his feet stylistically - £175 from a solo exhibition in Bristol at a community gallery seems bloody good value to me.

£14.58 a square foot, hmm, you were robbed

Ha! It ain't carpet buddy boy! Seriously though, not top flight, but I can see where he's going with this style development. And I rather like it. It's not been bought as an investment, but because a) I like it and b) It's going to work really well in a particular room in my house.
Just wondered, critically, what you guys reckon.

Wall-to-wall bullshit here:
Pretty much the whole article.
Do these people have no ability to understand what they're saying? Maybe it's a survival mechanism, to help them not to die from embarassment.

Bollocks. I thought she came across well. Performance art very rarely connects with the masses, but that was pretty cool.

Mark Cawson at the ICA is great.

Turner prize contenders particularly challenging this year
Assemble - what a load of bobbins

Shows how fucked British art is when it's won by people who aren't artists. And the other 3 are shit, and 2 of them aren't British.

Boo, why no debate?

Assemble aren't developers though. Granby Four Streets are behind the development, and they are non-profit Community Land Trust. Assemble will be employed by that trust as a consultant.

• #396
Whats this all about then?
-
• #397
Assemble have done/are doing some pretty great stuff, but I'm on the fence about whether they should have been shortlisted (let alone won) the Turner Prize.
They were easily the best of a pretty bad bunch, the other nominees were tragic! but when there is architetcure specific prizes like the Sterling Prize it seems a shame for the Turner Prize not to be given to someone who is actually an artist.

Oddly enough that was the one thing I missed at the CSM graduate show. I was with people who were more focussed on getting to the pub.
So, this has apparently been extremely successful as a visitor attraction:
