it would work better as a performance piece if it was soaked in piss
-
• #331
just don't drink too much and fall asleep in a corner or it may well become a performance piece

Could've done without Bojo's rambling, childish speech though.

Didn't Warhol say "modern art is what you can get away with?"

Looking for some advice as I need to sell some art books and I'm sure there are a fair few knowledgable artworld people on here.
I have a collection of Kippenberger books, from googling a few of them seem to be worth a grand or two. I obviously want to avoid eBay but should I go to an auction house or are their charges huge? Wondering of there is a better art-specific place to sell. Muchos gracias for any help.. -

abebooks, or with the better ones might be worth contacting Simms Reed http://simsreed.com/index.php or 20th Century Art Archives http://www.20th-century-art-archives.com/20thCenturyArtArchives/Home.aspx and seeing if they're interested.

Thanks for for that, Sims Reed looks interesting. Understand that like perceived Mash prices some sellers might be dreaming but having said that some my Kippenberger stuff is rare and I feel I got stiffed selling a Chapman Bros edition on ebay by being a bit naive about it's real worth..

I currently have work in the Jerwood Open Forest exhibition at Jerwood Space, Union Street. Five projects were selected from open submission to research and develop proposals for artworks to be sited in Forestry Commission locations across England.
We're doing a talk on Monday with Joy Sleeman of Slade whose main field of research is land art. Book tickets if you fancy it.

I enjoyed reading an article in the Guardian yesterday by Michael Stipe on recent work by Douglas Coupland.

There's a piece of art I'm keen on and contacted the gallery for the price which turned out to be about twice what I thought it would be. Generally speaking can you haggle with galleries?
-

Yes. You can also contact the artist directly too if you can find them ask about a commission piece for £X.
Haven't actually been to the Duchamp exhibition, but there is a hidden piece in one of the Barbican toilets...
