Heroin does not really do much damage to society. The damage to society comes from the criminalization of heroin. If it were legal and regulated, and therefore reasonably priced and consistent in dosage, the crime and overdoses associated with it would be reduced to almost nil. And heroin does not really damage the human body like long-term use of some other drugs does.

Nah.
Alcohol is legal, yet loads of members of society cant just enjoy alcohol responsibly and in moderation, members of this forum being a prime example. Heroin use if legalised would lead to more drug addicts, spending all of their money on an addictive substance (price has little to do with it). Crime might go down, but the impact on society would be detrimental. -

And what would you know about that?
I don't tag! Liar!

• #843
And what would you know about that?
I admit nothing. The number & variety of tags is adequate proof of my previous statement.

Substance abuse and consumption are different issues.
There was a a well known Doctor who actually promoted the regular use of cannabis sativa, le click
In other news; Shall we say thursday evening is the last possible day to express interest in playing the qualis, then get conseunsus or vote for a tourney format on friday?

Illegality makes the price dramatically inflated, which, along with drug cartels, is the source of the crime associated with drug users.
Drunks and dope junkies are not the same thing. In what way will more junkies nodding off in their home harm society? And if it is legalized, then are you going to go start shooting dope? If not, then why do you think others will?

i'm just simply amazed at how fast this gets off topic.

Right, back on topic.
Here is a bid from London. Other cities are encouraged to put in their own bids. Can we set a deadline of two weeks for bids to come in (i.e., March 23)?
This bid has made the rounds on the London private forum and a lot of active poloists have seen it and approved.
A London bid for the qualies
London will offer to host a one-day tourney to allocate all 10 UK spots for the Euros. We have two courts so we can handle a large number of teams. Depending in final numbers, we will do a full round robin if possible. If not, we will do Swiss rolls. We will provide housing for all non-London teams.
Registration will close on April 1. Full teams with names of all players are required.
Registered teams to vote on Final date. Confirmation of teams and players by two weeks before date of tourney.
Dates: We will have a vote among registered teams for the dates of April 16, April 23 or April 30.
Agreed, I've eased back on LOBP viewing/posting since the Euro Cheater Mallet thread.
I think most Europeans enter LOBP on the back foot Kev, just saying. (Although this is possibly the way the prolific posters want it to stay?)
By all means post a link/info in there, but everyone who has been involved in the UK spot allocation process have been sent an email pointing them here.
