At least we (as a nation) could set her adrift in her burning barge.

• #753
But then that cunt Chas would be in charge.

You mean to say you wouldn't trust a man who called his dog Pooh?
-
• #755
I wouldn't trust a man who said he wanted to be his mistresses lady product.

No THAT would be a spectacle I'd turn up to see- a Viking funeral barge, blazing as it floated down the Thames.
Instead I'm taking the Mrs to work for quarter to bastard 7 at Imperial Wharf, then doing 4 hours on the bike in the pissing rain.

She needs to die on or after Tuesday otherwise we might not get another bank holiday.

I've got to go over to Chelsea in the morning so might hang around on the river for a while. Hope I don't get stuck up there! -
• #772
The floater is going to take hours to progress along the river.
-
• #773
hoping the crap will be flushed away by the pissing rain
-
• #774
The only problem with it raining now is that it's highly unlikely to be raining tomorrow.

^ and who says republicans are miserable ;)
I'd just like to say I'm astounded this thread has seen so much action and feeling.
I'm not particularly pro or anti the Royal Family*. I'm a bit dubious of any of the arguments either for or against what the cost benefit of the Royal Family is - they always seem to be put forward by militants of one camp or the other (although I thought this was interesting)
My main issue is with the insane amount of power held by the PM, who as Gordon Brown has shown doesn't even need to be elected.
On that point in particular I would welcome GA2G's views.
- that said the size of the "expanded" Royal Family and the hangers on do erk me a bit. How many of them do you need to look after? Monarch + spouse, 1st in-line + spouse, 2nd in-line (no spouse), x1 backup(?). The rest do not need publicly paid security etc. and with the increase in life expectancy there will be even more of them!

I wonder what the chances are of the old bird carking it over night? That would be very amusing.
