The indoctrination starts early, my 6 year old's school was bedecked with humongous bunting this morning, and they are having a celebratory picnic on the playing field at lunchtime.

My son made a crown yesterday at preschool. My ancestors were around during the Revolutionary war and the War of 1812. FFS. I need to get him to make a "No Taxation without Representation" placard to balance things out.

@Aroogah Just wanna say that LP is fucking aces. And I really am not a 'The Smiths are amaaazing' person. Something to do with the production, the flow of songs. Perhaps it's their most commercial LP I dunno. Wonderful.

I don't begrudge an old woman her 90th birthday celebrations but let's face it, she's not the only one. There are plenty of people over 90 who don't get police protection for a saunter up the road.
Besides she would be too gristly by now for any good eating.
