That was really good. One of those daft ideas that worked. Thrilling races and a lot of skill involved. I love it when people 'invent' new ways of having fun on a bike indoors, with lots of spectators, good competition, and even unisex--great riding by Anna to get so far. Lovely to see people, and good afters at the Approach.

It was a different kind of racing - kind of cool that it wasn't possible to go too fast or you'd just ride off the track, so control was paramount (Probably why Chris won) and riding right on the edge was the way to win.
Also you could win races by having a very low gear (40-50) and starting so fast you'd caught up with your opponent in 2 laps.

This is crap, though:

Not cool.

I disagree about the crashes. Most interesting for me was when too great riders pushed each other right to the end. Great skill shown.

Yep, that was good fun. Real shame about the bikes getting stolen though, puts a dampener on things.
-
• #258
Were they stolen or the rightful owners too their parts back?

Music's shit, though.

It's too loud as well....

if this has the same outcome as bike polo then I\m not giving it a try. I was on the track for all of 8 laps and managed to what feels like crack a rib.

• #266
Too repetitive as well...

Crack'n'Rib. Is it in Dalston?

• #268
you buying or selling?

Medical purposes...

yeah but I managed to do 2 laps and roll around on the floor a bit in 6 and a half seconds. I had the fastest lap but it didn't count because of the DNF.

That was pretty awesome fun.
Made it just in time, didn't qualify but stayed on my bike. I'd like to have spent more time riding it, seeing Andy killing it in the break made me want one. Forum build anyone?Oh yeah, and my dynamo looked awesome in the video. Glad I left it on.

Awesome night, what little of it I remember.
Anyone find a 2 gig SD card with some photos on it (some of builds in work, Tokyo Fixed, some of the event?)
Dunno. I was bloody glad I wasn't riding!
Odd though. Unless you knew the riders most races weren't that interesting to watch. Crashes were the most fun bit.
The semi final where the guy fell over and Chris Akrigg, having caught him then had to bunny-hop/ride right over him was amazing though! I think Duncan has video.
