Frustrating, though a very small part of me is a little bit relieved. Watching those descents made my stomach turn just on a couple of inches of youtube screen! That said, these guys are pros and it would have made a fantastic spectacle. Wish it had stayed in, it would have been a monster of a stage!

The way Sean Kelly pronounces 'Italian' is starting to fuck me off.

Took out one of the climbs/decents for safety reasons at the last minute. Lots of protesting Italian fans about at the moment.

It was pretty audible to me. Its a bit rich from the Tifosi, ironic even given last years Italian winner was fond of the juice in the past.
Lol at 'ALL IN BOB' with the bit of meat dangling on a line in front of Bertie. :)

another brutal day ahead in the saddle towards the dolomites.. great ski region, rock formations very different to the alps. Despite this area being part of italy for over 90 years (since 1918 after heavy losses during WW1 on both sides) locals still speak sud-tyrolean, everything is bi-lingual and the cuisine continues to reflect german influences.. why the krauts feel more welcome here than in austria.. delicious kaiserschmarrn beckons after a long ride..

damn the UCI, I have been looking forward to this! Some of the finest sporting elements of the Giro have been on the unmade roads, this was going to be an epic, and now health and safety takes over. pffft.
