Contador's current level of fitness, compared to say Andy Schleck in the Tour of California or anyone else at the moment, is such that it points to him being very uncertain as to whether or not he will be riding in the Tour de France.

Because he has peaked too soon?
-
• #506
Unless of course he is determined to win both or all three.
-
• #507
He won't be using his current blood for the tour.
-
• #508
He might want to. He must have paid quite a bit for that stuff.

nice battle behind, more of a race

• #511
now he patronises Rujano. Gah, I despise him even more now!

Loved the way the Venezulean kept looking over his shoulder as he crossed the line as though he didn't trust Contador not to try and slip past him.

Another 90 seconds in the bag.

Contador won't be at the Tour. He'll be banned by then. Which is what makes this race a farce, he shouldn't be riding.
-
• #515
what an epic climb though!, put that on my list to do

• #516
Giro over.

tbh you have to take it off to him riding as he is (with determination and presence) in the face of all the courtroom stuff. Whether he's guilty or not I think it's admirable to be getting on with it.

He rides bikes for a living, and if the ruling does go against him, then essentially he's getting the opportunity to train during his suspension by participating in a grand tour. Most other riders in his position have not had that luxury.

Courtroom stuff? All that has happened so far is that the Spanish Federation, under pressure from the Spanish Government, brushed it all under the carpet.

Dissapoint, the pretenders were unable to bring it today.
Political artificial enhancement chat aside. Nice touch by Clenbutador to the wee Venezuelan chap. Kudos, I would have smashed him into the ground and done that twee pistol thing.
FWIW I cant see anything sticking to Bert. The new teflon don.
Roll on Zoncelan.

I still think he's doing a good job. Even if he is using your blood.

They've binned Monte Crostis completely tomorrow; no ascent or descent.

The UCI commisaires have claimed there is a sporting aspect (that having support only from motorbikes rather than team cars) that makes it unfair. Zomegnan is fuming.
I'm assuming Paris-Roubaix is cancelled next year.

too bad.
and what andy said... reaching any sort of consistency in policy and rules is nigh impossible when dealing with the UCI. revolution is most welcome.
fingers crossed something happens to Contadoper, and not a nice thing!
They are descending now in the rain, and it must be very cold.
