Cheers @absurdbird and @Airhead Ironmongery Direct did have more info on the dimensions so I've managed to find one on there that should fit. The 5 mm spindle was for a bathroom lock which was the problem.

On the subject of plastering, has anyone ever used some sort of heat-proof plaster before My builder made a complete balls of installing my cassette type bio-ethanol fire so I'm considering ripping it out and doing it myself. Fairly confident in the construction but the finishing may be a challenge considering I've never plastered before and this stuff says you can't sand or feather it.
Sort of bumping this, or rather changing the question - if I mount my cement board flush to the adjacent plaster, will I get away without plastering? The board looks fairly smooth from the images. Would take the trickiest part out of the equation.

Enjoyed my utility room shelves falling off the wall yesterday after one too many boxes added. Including the box of spare lightbulbs that mostly shattered.
Have invested in some geefixes for the re-install rather than the crappy basic plugs I appear to have used last time round. -

Ooh. I just put up some twintrack shelving and starting to load up with lots of books. And another with clothes storage. Slightly nervous about something crashing off the wall at some point.

Being able to see the floor is rather good though

On the subject of shelving after looking at a lot of options we coughed up for some of the Ikea Bror stuff, being powder coated steel they aren't the cheapest but there's a chance they'll last.
Also, @Señor_Bear looking back at your bookshelves. The images for the bracket seem to show a lip that would limit the depth of the shelf, but in the photo you shared your shelf seems to extend beyond the bracket?
Boring myself now but does anyone have a sweet understairs shelving setup they'd like to share?

There's no lip.

It is a soft closing bog seat, mind, which is worth its weight in gold :)

There’s no going back after you’ve heard the soft thud.

My GF has managed to break our toilet this morning! Does anybody know where the blue tube is supposed to go? I’m guessing it’s meant to have a home or connect to something, as it was loose?

Please excuse the pic. When drilling a hole for a curtain holdback hook, the wall didn't like it. Mix of old plaster, bit of metalwork and a fresh skim on top I think.
The hook actually goes in but obviously I want to make it nice. Can I just use TouPret filler or should I fill the hole with something more solid/drillable and then finish with toupret?

Hard to see from your lovely pic but I'm guessing it connects to the flush button as that's usually the only purpose for a small blue plastic tube in a cistern.

Pretty much any filler will do it but some will need 2 coats and allow time for shrinkage. Others will fill to any depth (supposedly without shrinking). It helps with that kind of substrate if you wet it before applying the filler otherwise the dry walls suck the moisture out of the filler around the edges causing it to crack.

It's a screen shot from a video. The best I can do at the moment, there's only a small access hatch and that's not even in line with the cistern.
The tube is connected to the flush button (the one on the wall) it's just that I can't see where it's supposed to connect within the cistern to flush.

Mine just has a random tube flopping about like that from the top of the syphon.
Where does it "flop"? I think this might be critical!
As far as I can tell, the tube is the only connection between the flush button and the cistern. It appears to be some sort of bellow valve and I think it's supposed to connection to something inside to "flush".
However, the access is pitiful. Added to that I have no clue what I'm doing.

Here’s the access.

Mine doesn't have remote buttons, so I deleted my comment as irrelevant.
I suggest looking on Google Images / eBay for one of the same design and figure it out from there.
