  • Contador comes across like a spiked horse. He doesn't know what shit he's been given, only that it makes him win. He's a pawn, all but a very talented pawn. In press conferences, when confronted with doping accusations, his little mouth flops open and he wriggles on his seat like a six year old needing a piss.

His Director sportif winds him up and points him in the right direction and off he goes, but nowadays riders don't have to go down the path of doping, there is the clean route available, and for me this makes doping in the present climate twice the crime it was ten years ago.

I don't hate the bloke, but I can't bring myself to like him either.

  • Did anyone read the interview with him in Procycling a month or so back? His comments about no-one doing more for the cause of anti-doping were breathtaking.

He's been on the juice from the start, riding for three of the dirtiest teams around and I, for one, look forward to when he finally gets his comeuppance.

  • I'm waiting to see what WiganWill writes. And then I'll make a decision.

  • All this incident in the first week seems to be reeling in the neutral fans; I've already had a conversation about masking agents in the kitchen this morning with one of the Director's PAs :-/

Much of this is true, but can't you say exactly the same for the Schlecks?

Doping or no, it still beats the shit out of other sports.

  • 40% off Katusha kit at PBK today;

    http://www.probikekit.com/uk/factfinder/search/result/q/katusha

    I lol'd.

    Unfortunately, yes.

  • Unfortunately, yes.

That's why I can't reserve a special hatred for Contador.

  • Or just save some for the gormless duo?

  • If Gilbert is doping I will actually cry though.

Not least because I bought OPL kit pre-discount.

  • The BMC kits nice, and would suit my bike. Any chance squeaking cadel, isnt squeaking clean?

  • There is a chance he is doping.

I see a lot of people riding round in Astana gear, which is actually astonishing.

  • shudder

  • shudder

  • shudder

    brm?

  • Hushovd today?

I can see the pace being set a tad to quick up the climb for Cav.

(would be nice if Gilbert won. I've money on him winning 2 stages)

Renshaw's calling it a sprint finish (i.e., a Cav win).

Done my homework for today's stage. Sprint at 37km, full gas at 143kms till the finish in Carmaux for a tight finish.

I don't know how serious to take tweets about a days tactics, though.

If Cav does want the green (as I'm sure he does) they'll be trying.

    (or whatever Andy says).

  • I'm saying nothing.

  • There is a chance he is doping.

always seeing astana gear, its cheap, bright and popular.. i still have my sarnier duval replica kit from 2007, cheap ebay sale (£10) great for commuting..

  • I sometimes commute in a US Postal Service jersey.

    Cheap as chips and warm.

Wouldn't be seen dead in Astana though. It looks shit.

  • I see a lot of portly commuters in Radio Shack jerseys. I wonder.."why?"

  • They love radios and want to lose weight?
