Aram/Roxy/Jack - You're next up to be degenerated (I suck at shit talk). When are you guys available?

Do all these new teams and events change people's opinions on a merit based split?
Well, I was for it in first place, so no it doesn't. Maybe next year...
-
• #280
No to splitting the league next year!

I think we should all wait until the end of this year's league before we start drawing conclusions.

+1
And play polo instead of continuing to talk about how we should be playing polo.

Don't be shy. It won't hurt too much, or take too long. An average of 2'30"/game, I reckon.

i got the impression gabes was saying he wasn't in great health, was disenchanted by the league split and bollocks that came along with it and that people should not dictate, whether any 3 of them will sub. I've lost a lot of love when it comes to people that can hardly or do hardly play polo using an opinion just because they can. People without the experience of last years league telling people what we did wrong and people wanting a different format, so they have a better chance at winning. Weve ended up with a lengthy tournament not a league, i don't give a fuck what anyone says or uses as an example of different sports. We had it working just fine, then some dick head watchmaker opened up our clock and fucked it. i also think its a little whack to tell apples they don't have the right to their opinion because they left the league, your talking about emilie who busted his ass trying to stop in fighting and keeping everyone happy with the infinite polling system, gabes who updated the league and helped do the qualy tourney and too many other community things to mention and jono who busted his hump giving us a world class polo tournament. You might not like their opinion, but they speak form experience, passion and genuine anger at useless fucksticks, sticking a spanner in our works, cause they still haven't worked out the shape of a mallet yet.
*please read my post, so you know if i mean you and you don't waste everyone's time, defending yourself, when it's not you.

That's funny, B, 'cause I can't really tell who you are talking about/to.
"people that can hardly or do hardly play polo" -- that's not me
"People without the experience of last years league" -- not me
"dick head watchmaker" -- possibly me?
"tell apples they don't have the right to their opinion because they left the league" -- I'm pretty sure you are referring to me hereI believe I was the only one who said they don't get an opinion. I fully stand by that claim. If they quit the league, they don't get any say in what remaining league members do with the league. Period.

It's funny because i don't think people that didn't play in last years league should have got a vote in any league poll. I still let them even though i'm of the 'Pay your dues' mentality.
I'd never expect you not to give your opinion, i would have thought you'd feel the same about others that have invested so heavily in polo. You give a vote to people who aren't playing in this league and had no intention of doing so, yet you cast aside 3 valuable members of the LPC that have nothing to gain one way or another. I thought you phrased it better earlier when you said "lets not be dicks about it"

I think the new league structure is fucking stupid. I agree with you. I just think that we should tough it out and play it -- it's like six or seven games, how bad could that possibly be to have to play seven polo games?!?
Obviously I know how much work Apples have put into London bike polo. But it seems like quiting the league after it has begun, mainly because you don't like the way the votes turned out, is divisive. And rude. These guys have stated clearly that they are going to keep playing competitive games, they just don't want to have to play some newbie teams.

i think that is the straw that broke the camels back tbf. Gabes isn't well. He stated it's about commitment and how he feels. He can bail on a throw in, but not the league, it would be fair to jono or em, but thats just how i read it.

• #290
i do not wish to be associated with this league.

indeed, no need to penalise jono is it?
-
• #292
Jono got kicked out of the fucking league despite having pleaded with them to stay in it!
-
• #293
Pleaded? I have some respect (including respect for the opinion of my fellow teammates).
Look, we're out of the league, let's not fret, we're trying something else out, sorry for the hassle, but the decision was made after a lengthy discussion.
Apologies for the hassle, there's still plenty of polo to be played, see you on court, etc.

Impeach.

i have no idea about the ins/outs/apples

Seriously though. Roxy/Aram/Jack - when do you want to play?

peaches.

"Impeach" + "Peaches" made me instantly think of a song I haven't thought of since I was in grade 9.

I think they're ducking us.

Plead: to appeal.
Whatever, Jono *asked *them to reconsider playing. My only point was that Brendan's argument about "penalizing" Jono is a nonstarter.
Ha, I think it would be the end of it all. Shame though, hindsight is 20/20
