I appreciate these games need to be played asap, but if I have a team member who's struggling to walk because of a bad back, am I allowed a bit of leeway given that the Cambridge tourney is interfering with dates of teams that can only play weekends?

Without trying to sound like a dick, get a sub?

I know it's not ideal and noone wants to play with a sub but this season we all stressed how important it was to stick to the schedule this time around. Although no forfeits have actually been enforced yet the games have stuck to fixture windows a load closer than last year.

It normally wouldn't be much of an issue but we can't organise play offs until the entire league have played their division based fixtures.

It's not our last game so it's entirely feasible that we would finish our games on the same day and not delay the end.
Fixtures may have stuck closer to the window this year, but there have been extensions for illness etc.

Without sounding like a dick either, can I have an answer from the committee as a whole rather than opinions.

I think the attitude so far has been to just get on and do it, plenty of games have been a few days late, but people have just played them, rather than asking anyone.

I'd suggest if you aren't delaying the playoffs just go ahead and do it.

As there are two courts, it's not a massive issue, we can play at the same time, but it would make it easier in terms of refs if we can play the three games one after another.

As Ed says, BAD need to be done before 1.

We were given 2 days in the rest of the window to work with, Dean can't walk, and we'd need a week, I'd like to wait, rules have been enforced, not fussed about subbing.

We can only do weekends because Cam lives out of town and Josh is at school with exams on right now. We have until 27th to play but that's Cambridge so this weekend is the last time we have within the window. That's why we offered 2 specific days within the window.

It sucks that Dean can't walk and I appreciate that you'd like to wait and play as a team. On the flipside, it would be nice to get the games done and move on to thinking about the playoffs. I guess the next possible date if Dean can't play and you won't use a sub would be Sunday 6th March but technically the committee needs to rule on that being ok.

You know that the forfeiter will get 0 points and negative goal difference, and there is no guarantee Nice Touch get any points either?

Just play it late, like loads of other teams have done, don't mention it on the forum, until it's played, get the result in before the end of the last fixture, and no-one will care.

5/6th March is good for us. Can possibly play Spring Break on the same day, thus not delaying the end of our fixtures.

As I said above, the next possible date would be Sunday 6th March but the committee has to say that's ok. I think it's totally self-defeating to vote in a rule structure and then say it's fine to ignore it.

I can't imagine there will be any strong objections to delaying it. We're all here for the polo right?
