Point fingers, calling names isn't going to achieve anything.
What, in my opinion, needs to happen now is for Brendan to state how he will handle the playoffs. Ideally he can choose subs to play with him throughout the playoffs, as I think this is the fairest approach, but it's kinda down to Brendan to decide on this. Unless there is to be some voting process on how he should choose his teammates. I'd rather is just happened from his own good will, rather than another shit slinging session and someone feeling bullied into it.

(For the record, I have been searching for the rules to League I for about four days now, and I finally found them this morning, which is why I posted them. Over and out.)

Really enjoyed the game last night with JAH. Josh was on fire. I was also thrilled with our team's ability to step back, regroup and play as a team. It felt great. Sorry we buzzed off so early, we were famished and beer and pizza was needed, stat!

I agree with Gabes.
2 points:
It's only the league, and we have had way too many slanging matches already. This part of the lfgss forum is becoming an embarassment.
If Brendan 'rotates' his 'squad' of subs after every game, logically it ought to be a disadvantage, not an advantage, so why should the rest of us care?

& Bill, just because those tags aren't as cruel as some other tags on this forum, it is supposed to make it okay?
How can someone make a joke out of this?
Loth as I am to get into a dispute over someone else's tags, I have to say I think at least 2 of the tags were on there before Dave broke his leg & I can't really say that any of the 4 are offensive or cruel.

None of said tags are from me.

Because his squads, who have undeniably varied in ability, have an impact on every other teams points and GD, not just his own. When we're playing grouped playoffs, where the playoff division may depend on the GD between teams 3&4, for example, the fact that one team played a much easier team than the other will skew that GD.
We debated this before league 1. Its the reason we had a subs rule in the first place. Honestly, if we could have found a way to limit subs to players of similar ability back then, we'd have done it, because it has an impact on every other team they play.
Sarah. Nobody expects Dave to play. But Brendan could have designated a permanent sub for either of his two missing players, and none of this would have been an issue. Sometimes its about playing within the spirit of the rules, not just the way theyre written.
Bill & Gabes are right. Its only a league, and this year we've had a lot of experiments and rule changes and debate, and its not worth the fighting over right now. i think there are a lot of rules we need to decide on before the next league though..

Yep BBB big thanks for the fun games. Was good to be in a competitive game after the last few one sided affairs.

you think i'm going to to field a 'weaker' line up? Er yeh. I am very likely to play with the same two people anyway always had intended to, because it would be fair to those two people. What i think is unfair is that you guys somehow have it in your head that this disadvantages YOU. So you word it like i'm cheating or being unsportsmanlike in the long tradition blah blah which is a dick move. I played with different people because of scheduling and the fact i thought it would be fun. I didnt try to tactically play with diff people. Quite frankly, its not in the rules and you can mind your own business.
It seems people missed these points.
Also for the sake of clarity. I couldn't pick the same 2 people to play with for the rest of the season. Because ...
Emilie
Emmet
Andy leb
Iain
Ray
Jonny
Growup
Robb
All expressed there wish to be thought of as 'subs' and every single one of them cited not being able to commit to the league, or that they didn't want to play serious games (I even asked brian hoser so i could play 1 league game with him before he left). I asked a couple of people on that list after dave broke his leg to finish the season and the answer to me was no so rather than take take it seriously, thought i'd mix it up. I haven't taken this as seriously as some people have and the level of slinging on here is unfathomable. Do you think I chose James Grow up and Ray as a tactical team against JAK? Growup was in town and wanted to play polo. I asked Robb, but he was subbing for JAK and so I asked Ray again. Fuksake, would people like to dictate what colour shirt i wear and what bike i ride. Is my mallet too much of an advantage? This used to be fun.I wish i had bowed out when dave broke his leg and been a sub now. I've played with flu and a broken finger ffs!
For those of you that have sent me pm's or posts of support, thanks. For those of you continuing in the witch hunt, chill out!Oh and my 2 players for the playoff will be Manu and Mario from L'equipe. They'll play all 3 games to keep it consistent. Cheers!

I couldn't give a hoot for the playoffs, but if you (and the rest of the London team) could ride these for Karlsruhe, that'd be lovely:

I'll head home and get bits of chain and more whips, etc. Totally forgot about it all this morning... I had a weird dream that put me off (where I was a stay at home dad with a cat and a fear of heights).
Basically dreamt of being me!
Sorry couldn't bring cogs for heythrop, Tuesday was stay at home dad day for me. Will bring to their next weekday (but not Tuesday) game, if still needed.
Would I be right in thinking chucker's not been getting much sleep recently? Whenever people get bitchy on here it means they've not been sleeping.
Love the fact you need to post rules from two seasons ago in regards to B, didn't a team play last year with two subs because someone left and another person broke a limb? Did anyone bitching at b bitch then?
