First and last pages are gold. Not time to read between. So long as the forum doesn't get full of 'word association' and 'let's count to infinity' threads (the staple of heavily moderated forums) then let the shit keep flying.

You see, traditionally, forum etiquette would frown upon this ^^^^ sort of off-topic private conversation in someone elses thread. The irony of this thread being about whether or not it is going to the dogs is not lost on me. Yeah, it's just traditional etiquette, and its all a lot more informal here, but it came about for good reasons. LFGSS really does feel like the private playground of about 20-30 members. Can you not keep general chat to general chat threads?

I think the thing about cliques is that they represent strong bonds. Friendship. But they can lead to mob mentalitiy, as we have seen, and also are susceptible to being trolled, as we have also seen, in this thread.

But this forum is a collection of loosely connected cliques, essentially. And I'm all for it. Would you rather we all just vaguely knew each other in the keyboard warrior mode, but didn't actually have anything to do or say with each other out of the forum? Bikeradar is that way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I was gonna say... Although the forum reaches way beyond the confines of the glorious tarmacadam ribbon that is the M25, it was originally conceived for like-minded cyclists to share tips, meet up for rides/socials in the London area, a local forum for local people... An ever-growing hardcore still do this so it's no surprise when real-life stuff crosses over onto internetz and vice versa, etc etc, yadda yadda...

I think we should raffle off bans to charity. Anyone who gets more than £30 in £1 donations from different people will be banned and the money donated to LCEF. Winners all round.

If it was kept to on topic stuff, there would be 9 million threads of one page in length, with every post after the first telling the OP to UTFS.
