Awesome photo, very unusual to see a cantilever set-up on a road bike, any reason for that? power?

According to the thread over on weightweenies where the photos were posted, Fignon switched bikes mid-stage as cantilevers were lighter.

I hope he only did it at the foot of the final descent, I'd not fancy descending an Alp with just a pair of cantis to stop me!

Huh, I thought cantis were more powerful (and heavier).

id reckon lighter but defo stronger ed.

although saying that forks need posts etc so yeah heavier in the total
