  • So far so good?

  • Yes.

Shitting myself about the K&SW 600 though. It's hilly (to say the least) and I'm 83kg not the 76kg I was hoping for. Oh well. Will apply the HTFU spray and shout "SHUT UP LEGS!" to get myself through it.

Good luck Greenbank, if it does go pear shaped you can ride mine from Sevenoaks Weald on 11th/12th June
    Kent Invicta 600km

  • I wouldn't worry about it GB, I'm pushing a hundred and I managed the BCM.

Of course I'm now qualified for PBP, done the pre-reg and ready to role. Just have to avoid resting on my laurels and eating too much pie.

That's good to know, no danger of running out of spaces then?

Hopefully it won't come to that (although it's on my list to ride one day, albeit when I have more spare time).

  • I have 24 entries so far and room for about double that so long as I know before ordering cards :)

I'll know on Monday (given that the K&SW 600 is this weekend).

Physically I'll be ok for the K&SW, it's no hillier than other rides I've done (on fixed) and I'll be taking the geared Wilier. It's more the mental side of it and the packing demons that I need avoid who'll be whispering "Give up now, it just gets hillier from here." all the way through.

  • Pas de probleme.

All qualified for PBP now. More later when I've unpacked the bag of stinking kit.

Well done Alex good luck in France

  • Pre-registration converted to full Registration. Just need the ACP Brevet number for my 600 and I'll be done. All paid up too. Flights booked. Hotels booked.

    Blimey.

  • Justin Jones and Mark Fairweather have both qualified as well, both will be on fixed :D

  • Tick tock...

Just over a week to go (I'll be starting shortly after 6pm on Sunday 21st).

My Condor Tempo was stolen back in June, but the insurance replacement is being built by Condor as we speak. I should be picking it up on Monday, just in time for a couple of short shakedown rides before handing it over on Wednesday to a friend with a van who'll be taking it to Paris for me whilst I fly out on Saturday.

It looks I'll be able to do a whole 50km on the bike before doing 1200km in under 4 days. Ho hum, hope it fits.

Training going well. I started off at 84kg in May and I've managed to whittle that down to 84kg in time for PBP. Fuuuuuuuuuu....

Anyone else on here doing it?

  • I'll be there. Just need to make a few tweaks to the bike now and have a quick kit rundown before we leave. Driving down south on Thursday, ferry Friday, bike check on Saturday and the as much sleep as I can bank.

  • Right ho internet stalkers, this is where you can track riders.

Just plug in the frame numbers and see how far the rider has gone. My frame number is 5634.

  • Good luck PBPers!

  • Alex Greenbank Frame Nos: 5653

Bike on its way to Paris thanks to someone with a van. I'm off there on Saturday morning, collect bike, register, sort out bike for bike check, chill, wibble back to hotel with a beer, sit around all day Sunday feeling nervous, off some time after 6pm on Sunday. Finish by 2pm on Thursday. Rar.

When I rode in '03 the local village organised a 'prologue' where riders toured around the village to keep the locals entertained. Extra miles and a free tee-shirt to save the nerves whilst you're waiting!

  • Hopefully my LFGSS summer cap (ordered this afternoon) will get here on Friday so that I can wear it during PBP...
