  • If you feel you're likely to disagree with or be offended/disgusted by what you are ordered to do then don't sign up

Given that they have been engaged in this somewhat dubious war for 9 years now, there can't be that many enlisted men who didn't know about it when they signed up, or haven't had the opportunity to leave the service in the normal way in the interim. This fact does rather diminish the probability that dammit is correct to surmise that

It would be perfectly possible for the majority of soldiers currently on active duty to disagree strongly with the conflict that they are engaged in prosecuting.

  • Exposing my ignorance (again)- can you just give notice and leave the army?

I thought you signed up for a set period, during which you were committed to stay?

you sign up for set periods of time - you can pay your way out of the armed forces, the cost to exit early reflects on how much training you have had and or what rank you are coupled with how long is left of your service.

-Mobile phone contracts - dale can you transfer it to someone? if not, like someone said before sell the phone and pay off the contract - I think after 6 months you can downgrade your tariff to a cheaper one then use the money from the sale to close the contract.

  • Otherwise your logic could be applied to support a child molesting teacher. Their purpose is to teach (which at least the teacher is doing) but there is the slightly off key side effect of them sometimes raping kids.

This is a fucking ludicrous, inflammatory argument that makes you sound more like a Daily Mail reader than anyone else.

  • Dredge....

What can I do if I feel my contract was mis-sold to me but can't find the copy the store gave me at the time?

I'm sure when I last upgraded (18 months ago), it was a special offer where you got the 24-month lower rate but were only contracted to 18-months - I now can't find the contract I signed when I upgraded and after being fobbed off a few times by o2's web-chat/phone customer support/the store about getting them to send me a copy of the statement I finally spoke to their complaints team who refused to send me a copy or help in any way.

What can I do now? Just keep paying it? Wait a day or two & try to speak to someone else? It's just really annoying because all I want to do is see the contract - I didn't particularly want to leave 02 at the end but they've been messing me about today and it just feels like they've pushed me towards that....
