It's nuts. I guess it just loves that spot. It's from a cutting my folks gave me from their David Austin one.
Definitely a lesson in buying a rose from a good breeder.

the little green olive looking baby fruit are pretty exactly like the greengages on our allotment, though I'm not an expert.
we shall be making some sort of redneck x waitrose booze with ours

Has anyone got any idea what this is? I've asked a few people as well as purchasing a plant identification app (Picture This) but had no luck. Maybe it's a hybrid of some sort?

YES! That's exactly it! Thank you very much!
I didn't mention it above but one of the people that I asked was an RHS qualified judge. The RHS must be handing out qualifications to anyone these days!

Great to see everyone's gardens coming to life.
My wildflower seeds are starting to bloom. Always fun finding out what's going to pop up. Some flax came out this morning

This. I rediscovered them in a shop in Briancon after climbing over the Izoard, and then each year Earth in Kentish Town had really tasty ones!

I've not eaten them since I was a kid and my great aunt had a tree in her garden!

Very relaxing, we love a pot too. In fact Homesense (which are a homewares arm of TK Maxx) have some interesting stuff in at the moment for not crazy money - probably not frost hardy but for £25 I won’t cry about it.
Also thanks everybody for the canna chat, they’re in so we wait for flowers. I have a feeling I’m gonna rearrange 90% of these plants next year.

Looks like a Viburnum to me. [Edit: after a second look I think this is just another V branch: There’s a Sycamore coming up in the middle which you might want to dig out.]
