  • im assuming he means the laps of the roundabout we did

According to Ed, it's the safest way to ride a track bike. In circles.

  • Great ride, and again thanks to peter carter. i was not so happy with the wildlife, almost being t-boned by a deer wasnt on my to do list!

  • The Deer

I only partly heard about this, did you really get startled by a deer?

  • Nice photos Neil thanks for sharing

  • The deer nearly sideswiped me!

  • Thanks again everyone for a great day out...
Cheers Fran and Wools for marshalling / backstop duties and thanks
to Peter for organising and leading the rabble that is a forum ride.
How many laps of the roundabout did we do?
The deer thing was a little like this but with cycles instead
of motor bikes and less van halen (it was just behind me so only
heard rustle in the trees followed by a yelp then rustle on the other side.

    - Sturgis 2007 Near Deer Hit! Who is the biker?[/ame]

  • The deer out there are lovely. Usually it's them who get startled, not the bike riders. :)

  • Great ride yesterday! good route to know when one needs to escape the city.
Cheers Peter for organising : )

Fran/riding the bike that is missing the colour pink....and possibly a flag.

  • Cheers Peter for organising this. Twas a sweet little route out of the city with a good little crowd. I saw plenty of smiles so I guess mucho fun was had. :)

  • Sumo it sounded like you had a rattlesnake stuck inside your hub...

  • Looks like i missed out on a good ride sorry i didn't make it slept right thru the alarm......my fault for working too much...it's not gona happen again.....will keep an eye out for the Glendene Ride.

  • I just woke up to find that some bastard stole my front wheel, saddle + seatpost +saddle bag and other brooks saddles from my flatmates' bike.. Obviously the thief has a taste :-(

  • ....and possibly a flag.

But who could tell which flag it was :-)

    Sorry about that - again!

    Noo!
If you don't have the need to play around with parts on a regular basis, glue in some ball bearings in the allen key wholes thingies of all the bolts and screws etc.

I hope someone starts a thread for this Glendene ride soon. I don't want to miss it.

  • tftf- sorry to hear about your burglarisation. I have a front wheel you can have for free and a few decent saddles knocking about; if you want either pm me.

I was gonna do it but never had a chance to get around to it, bugger! Normally I go around with wee little cables all around the wheels and saddle but I was just toooo tired yesterday locked only the frame and rear.

Ah, thanks! that will be a big help as this was my everyday commuting bike. I'll drop you a pm cheers :-)

Not gonna let this little thief ruin my closure of this week. I'm going to stay in positive mind. I mean it's better than the whole bike getting stolen, and it happened after the ride not before!

  • ^ Admirable. I'd be fucking raging! :)
