Giants are super weird now with their own brand wheels. At least most brands have the good grace to call their components brands something different, Giant really want you to know who really made those wheels.

Any reason not to go for the canyon?
guess it depends when you actually need the bike for.. 2020?

Have one. Lovely to ride. Have chucked some 33mm rubber on mine and its like riding a magic carpet.
-
• #2130
Mine came within two weeks...
-
• #2131
Ah, well apparently the size I want is in stock ready to go? Do canyon tell lies about these things?
-
• #2132
AHH, great to know. One of my Q's was can you get a 32 in there.
I'm taking some time to get properly measured and fit next week so if the canyon works, think I'll go for it.

Always worth it. Canyon geometry always seems a little out there but it was a fit with Scherrit that got me riding Canyons in the first place.
I have Jack Brown Greens on mine - fit with room to spare.
The only issue I had was mine arrived with the chain too long but that is trivial to check and fix.

Jack Brown Greens on mine too. There was a pic way back on here with the clearances, but it's plenty. Have also had knobbly 32 cross tyres on, and ridden some pretty sketchy singletrack. All good fun.

Think I went for them after seeing your post actually!

Dropped him an email... impatiently awaiting a response

He's normally absolutely slammed, generally replies within a day though!
He's a nice guy, other option is give him a ring :)

Quote with me supplying the hubs was about the price of a Hunt set fully built.
The alternative is Light Bicycle rims at around £350 and get them built...
-
• #2139
I'd buy Hunt.
I have both Hunt and LB. The diff in pricing is minimal for something based out of UK. -
• #2140
But I’d potentially have the hubs so would be about half the price...
-
• #2141
in that case LB! Since you live close to @broken_777 it will be very easy for getting them built. He built mine.
-
• #2142
Great thanks.
Best to PM @broken_777 or do you have a site? -
• #2144
Ah shame, I didn't have hubs but it worked out the same for me as getting a set of Hunts would have been
-
• #2145
That’s good.
I was hoping for three; front, rear & dynamo but at that price it’s not very realistic unfortunately. -

I have H36 Aerocockpit in 90mm 'stem' and shallow bars (70mm reach, 128mm drop) in 42cm width, I'll sell for £200 if anyone is keen. Never used.

Wouldn't want to ride behind you in the rain.

Extensions are being made, but I need to get creative since the back is still so high above the ground
Non. I'll be more specific. Canyon included a full group, decent wheelset and even the details like tyres and saddle are useable.
The others I've looked at seem to miss a few key things. Like I'm not sure about giants entry level wheels, don't like the saddles and the proprietry components etc.
Nothing to do with being original. Just value and packaging. If anyone knows of a similar bike but with a SRAM group I'd be interested.
