  • I think it will work, I have the frameset in hand, but unfortunately thats the least of my worries now as the frame arrived with a cracked top tube.

  • let me know how it goes then!

I dont understand how it might not fit though. The power meter is just on the outer side of the cranks, aren't they?

  • damn, gutted for you -was the packaging damaged?

  • the powermeter part of the spider sits a bit inboard of the chainrings, so it overlapps over the BB if that makes sense.

Yeah packaging was a little damaged but not enough to wreck the frame like this I would have thought, but who knows. Time to experience the Canyon Customer Services I've heard so much about.

  • ring this number 020 8549 6001 they were super helpful and quick in sending me out a different stem to exchange.

  • Yeah already done that, they just said to wait 2-3 days for a response via email. And the frame is out of stock until September so it looks like the wait will continue.

  • My Aeroad arrived today and I was surprised to know that the S27 seatpost doesn't accept oval rails :_(

I will need to check my frameset more thoroughly after seeing Hovis frame damaged, I feel for you.

  • Actually scratch that, bike is surprisingly arriving tomorrow so I guess I'll find out soon.

    Ah fuck. Refresh fail.

    That sucks :(

  • I'm fairly sure you can order special oval rail clamps for the seatpost. I hope your one survived its journey better than mine did.

  • fuck no! :(

  • Some good news, Canyon found a frame outside of their usual stock and are getting it sent over to their uk service centre and then fwding it to me. I'll swap all the bits over and then send the dud one back to them. Fingers crossed this time next week my frown will be upside down.

  • good luck!

  • Just make sure they don't just paint over the crack and send you the same frame back

  • The Canyon frames are very very thin, strong but when applying force in a direction it's not design to, it crack easily.

  • Yep, and shipping in a poorly packed cardboard box is just asking for it

  • thats not a cardboard box, thats a £15 bike guard

  • Bike guard my ass!

  • You want it? £10

  • ask for the bike guard to be refunded, it was not fit for purpose

  • Sound logic, but for frameset only orders one does not get charged for the Bike "guard"

  • I've got £2500 to drop on a bike and I desperately want an aeroad 7.0/8.0 di2 but I'm £750 short and can't handle a 3 month wait. Oh fuck, what to do....

  • Get a race license and then you will only be £550 short
