Yeah my target weight for this season was 79Kg down from 85Kg in late July. I managed to loose the weight with relatively little effort (I'm eating cake right now).
According to Google Jens Voigt is 6'2" and 76Kg*
I'm 6'1" and 79Kg... I'd be happy to be a tad lighter and even nearly as powerful
Yeah, but Jens is a professional roadie, so he's had years of conditioning/big miles to grow accustomed to being what is essentially underweight.
I'm 5'7", and even when I was 75kg, I won club hillclimbs. I've been 60kg, and although that's the kind of weight I'd be were I a pro roadie, it wasn't healthy for me as a club rider. It wasn't even big miles that got me to that weight; it was MDMA.
I'm 67kg now, and from recent experience, I reckon I could match the hillclimb times I did at 63kg - so 5% here or there doesn't really matter.

Yeah, I know your right. Let's just say that next season I'll have an increased power to weight ratio... and I'm still only aiming for top ten placings... and that's pretty ambitious.

If any non-affiliated riders want to have a go at hill climbing, you can ride the MDCC event next Sunday under the CTT "Come and Try It" dispensation. http://www.maidenheadcc.org.uk/node/496 Excellent value for money as you get 3 hills for your £2. You'll need to be at Marlow by about 10am. Last year's result http://www.maidenheadcc.org.uk/node/114 will give some indication of the duration of the effort.

and here's my snaps:
The last one is Calleva from this very forum... not that you can tell with my photography. I chose not to take a close up so that I could shout encouragement/abuse. It must have worked a bit because he sped up and couldn't stand up for at least 10 minutes after crossing the line.It was more than ten minutes and I still feel a bit queasy now.
These skinny dudes with their effortless climbing technique make me sick, btw.

Yeah, we* do Marlow Bottom and Winter Hill as a warm up before tackling the scene of your epic victory.
*Technically "they" rather than "we" as the most I'll be doing is riding up to the steepest section to stand and take the piss.

Is that on this weekend?
Yeah, duh: http://www.maidenheadcc.org.uk/node/496
Quarry Wood Hill doesn't show up on Gmaps. :(

The road is actually Quarry Wood Rd, the hill is Winter Hill from the escarpment side.

I think I've ridden that (usually down). Isn't that where someone stacked it heading to Oxford on a forum ride?

Yeah, we always make people pay at the bottom just in case they don't make it to the top :-)

Well the days of the most brilliant cake prices seem to be gone forever then. Thank you very much Olympic heritage.
This might need somebody with the political nous of the Herne Hill campaign to sort out?
Would ride to demonstrate at SCC but not going to throw money into their coffers. David Millar could step in for this year and auction his shoes?
fuck, i didnt know there is a hollingbourne hill comp. i only live down the road and ride it several times a week.
