how do zombies "pace it a bit" ??? :)

Just watched the 4th ep of Walking Dead and it's definitely a good one. The exposition at the beginning is a bit clunky in parts but it picks up later on..

Also: undead version of red dead redemption :D

When will this be out on DVD? I don't want to fuck around with streaming (netbook and dongle) and I just have basic digital telly, no Sky, no Virgin, etc.

I think legally these days they have to have subtitles for the hard of hearing, so you should be fine. Every DVD I've bought recently has had them.

If the first series is say 12 episodes, 1 per week, then that's 3 months in total and the series started about a month ago? Then it has 2 months left to run so through until mid / end of Jan? Then DVD out a couple of weeks after first series ends, so end of Jan start of Feb? Just guesstimating.

According to wikipedia there are only 6 episodes in the first season and the finale in the states is December 5th. No date for DVD release. Maybe before christmas if they're smart about it.

Also, after the second episode aired the network commissioned a 13 episode second series.

I think legally these days they have to have subtitles for the hard of hearing, so you should be fine.

There's no legal requirment for including subtites, otherwise movie from iTunes or Xbox Marketplace will have subtitles (as of the moment, they're back in VHS where they never had subtitle*).

*I lied, I managed to find one in iTunes, but it was the Italian Jobs and not the good one...

I presume that makes it awkward to download torrents then Ed. I don't need 'em in English, but it's a real pain getting AVI downloads with subs for foreign films and programmes.

Extremely to the point that the only movies I buy are DVDs from the shop (where I can actually check if they got subtitle, only 10% of them tend not to have some).

Not looking forward to the future where films will be brought online only as oppose to a brick and mortal shop with actual item.

This is what has always wildly irritated me about the walking dead.

Where's the safest place to hole up?

A deserted farm house?

A shopping mall?

A underground archive/bunker/research lab?

No i've got a much better idea.

the only thing that annoys me about these zombies is that they can't decide whether they are dumb and slow or clever and fast. Sometimes they are dodged with ease and others they are using tools and faster then a human.

Still its a great series, i've been getting the eps online, can't wait for the dvd

@Ed - I'm not up with the type of file you download from iTunes but there are websites out there with subtitle tracks that you can download and then overlay with programs like VLC media player.

Oh I know there's such thing exist, I just don't like the idea of having to actually do the work of finding and putting subtitle in movies that should have them.

I suppose they should be in there as standard. Even with your average .avi file it's so easy to put them in I don't why they don't do it for you.

It's really easy to do if you ever get desperate though. You download one (usually small) file and then using VLC media player there's an option in the 'Advanced Open File' (ctrl+shift+O) to use that file for the subtitles. I've done it for foreign films quite a lot.

There was that episode (2nd I think) when he was running through the street hobbling on his leg (at the start) but easily dodging them. Then further down the street it almost looked like one of them zombies was climbing a ladder?

I still really like the series though. But I have to agree with the person posting up there ^^

Would these zombies die if they didn't feed?

Can these zombies find people by smell? - Asking because in the 2nd episode the group claimed they had to live in the shadows a bit (to avoid being seen). But then further into the episode the group say they can find you by any means.
