  • rules are rules unless it's a respected member of the community, generous and helpful bloke.

    This.

  • rules are rules. might wanna ask hippy about it ;)

I think you're out of line here, Benjamin, Hutch is a very valuable member of this forum...

  • Wicksie & Joe: I know RDC is indeed a very helpful member but: http://www.lfgss.com/post1603027-119.html

    This.

I think you're out of line here, Benjamin, Hutch is a very valuable member of this forum...

  • Its not for sale elsewhere. His photos on his own website is no different to people linking to pics on Flick r or photobucket.

  • That was my point exactly, thanks for making it clearer than I did! At the end of the day I'm fnckin bored with these shenanigans already and have nothing further to say on the matter, this isn't even an exciting 'popcorn' opportunity for everyone else. Subject closed as far as I am concerned, but big thanks to all those who chipped in with kind words. Adios Birmingham Budgie...

  • Question: Is this true?

Its not for sale elsewhere. His photos on his own website is no different to people linking to pics on Flick r or photobucket.

    Answer:

There's a huge difference between posting photos on a blog/flickr/website and posting this under the title "For Sale":

*"Nice example of the renowned On-One Pompino in classic light blue. Designed to be a ‘do it all’ frame with generous clearances for tyres and mudguards, this is currently set up with a fixed gear but has Avid ArchRival brakes front and rear so could easily be switched to SS (rear hub is flip/flop). New brake pads, cables, chain, front tyre and almost new rear tyre, new rack, this is a very good value package ready to ride away and keep riding. On-One size Large which is 54cm seat tube centre to top, 55.5cm effective top tube, suit riders around 5’9” to 6’1” +/-, full blurb here: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOP/on-one-pompino-frame"*

which is clearly an advertisement elsewhere other than the forum, no?

I might be a newbie, but at least I don't break rules and present facts only, not fallacy.

    "Frames and bikes for sale
This section is the current stock for sale, representing a variety of marques, sizes and prices for different tastes.

Frame sizes quoted are centre to centre and weight is for main frame excluding fork unless otherwise stated.

    Sounds commercial to me

  • It was a statement of fact, not a question. Change the fucking record.

  • Charified what I meant, but the question still stand.

It was a statement of fact, not a question. Change the fucking record.

  • You appear to be the only person who thinks so, so I put it to you that in this instance, you are incorrect.

  • nope. i think it's not in line with rules. again, people trying to make a quick buck buy not having to pay ebay fees etc.

  • I resent "again, people trying to make a quick buck buy not having to pay ebay fees etc."
I've donated twice in the last 6 months to the forum and I'm actually making a £70 loss on the Pompino assuming someone buys at that price. As everyone who has met me knows I buy and sell stuff because it's an interest and it feeds my own cycling needs, I'm not in it for the money. I note with some amusement the fact that Hilary Stone was reviled on the forum when he used to sell on eBay, as soon as he started selling on the forum which he does COMMERCIALLY, he became lauded and revered. I've got no beef with him or anyone else for that matter, but it's interesting I have been judged negatively by two people I have never met nor had dealings with...

  • there's a difference between personal sales and multiple, almost weekly sales. i don't condone hilary's exploits.

not a personal attack, so get off your soap box.

  • nope. i think it's not in line with rules. again, people trying to make a quick buck buy not having to pay ebay fees etc.

The same could be said for anyone selling anything on here.

  • fwiw read my next post.

  • If indeed there is no commercial interest advertising the bike on your on site, why not remove it from there?

  • Let it go people, move on.

  • Argh. The price just went back up to £499. The one still in my virtual shopping basket has jumped £100 accordingly. Snoozed, losed.

  • Phone them up and try and get it at the old price? They normally have a sale every 3 months anyway so if you can wait a while the same deal will proobably come up.

  • Yeah I did that actually. Apparently the price hike is due to a better wheelset.

  • Basically it's on-one hubs with those rims;

  • Should've chosen brown, ah well, a steal either way (well apart from the seatpost, can't change saddle).

  • Whistles

  • Andy, NO.

We'll get chapter and verse on his sit bones again.

  • @coventry_eagle - wind your fucking neck in. The amount of people Hutch has personally helped on here is huge and he's a outstanding asset for the forum.

    Fuck, what did I do.
