  • That's just showing off that, doing donuts on an ASL

  • This afternoon I saw a woman riding on the a24 south from morden, I thought her front light was in a strange position on her bars... Then realised that's because she was holding it in her hand... No back light.

  • sometimes the smug prick part of myself (it's a large part probs) gets agitated when i see dozens of people with rear lights on the left non-drive side of the bike down by the rear wheel hub or something.
but then i once put chutney on spinach so i have no moral high ground pointing out stupid decisions.
but better than no light at all, i guess!

  • Some silly young lady cycling up chrisp street on a barclays bike and taking the pavement option. Called her out but she didnt hear - headphones in.

I had to do that once when my bracket broke. all the way from central london to morden.

in this instance though I was not the morden lady in question.

  • Years ago, I cycled from Shepherd's Bush to Mitcham with a mini slide projector strapped to the handlebars, projecting an image of the harbour at Port Isaac.

Had the same experience recently when the potholed wasteland that is LCN23 east of the Walworth Road finished off my bracket. I dislike riding on the tops anyway but felt even worse grasping the light in one hand.

Cycled on to the next bike shop where I invested in one of those useless Frog things, just to get me back.

was it raining at the time?

    any port in a... etc

  • Ninja MTB rider on Euston Rd last night undertook me at York Gate lights. Then a little further up the road at Regents Park, he cut around a stationary bus, pulling out in front of white HGV cab with RH Freight trailer. Excellent awareness and driving by the HGV driver avoided a very nasty collision.

  • Calling out the stupid idiot who undertook the bus on Railton Road this morning as it was going into a stop. The bus driver was right to beep and shout at you out of the window you utter lunatic.

  • Dirty prick , no one ever deserves to be run over because they did something antisocial

The problem is more than antisocial.
It is illegal, dangerous, arrogant, stupid and ultimately pointless.

Its funny that on LFGSS we can insult drivers/bad cyclists as much as we want. We use the line 'natural selection' when talking about bad decisions these road users make.
Joking about death and being killed is OK. Until its against the grain, until something like helmets/light placement/RLJ/ or anything else that could have some 'trendy' qualities applied to. Suddenly everyone has to fight for moral high ground and we're all Judge Judy.

To suggest otherwise if boorishly sexist.

James would call anyone out in real life too. He's a bit like that.

To this, thats a bad adjective to use.
The way Women are fiercely protected on here (whiteknighting) He would probably throw his coat down for me to walk on and other nonsense that I personally dissaprove of but is 'appropriate' and makes men look better.

  • Yeah white knighting is defo the reason women asked for a separate subforum and why the "where are all the cool guys" thread got closed... Not to mention the "girls on bikes" thread... Which had so many white knights posting on it that it got to at least a hundred pages before being nuked.

And again you don't know James.

It's only bad in your own little strawman, in which you're also talking bollocks.

  • ^^ On a road you should get room definately. Whether or not this happens is debateable. Belfast sounds awful, drivers in Leeds practically cross the central line to get around you.

Also in trying to defend the cycling minority I do uphold all rules of the road and do care about other cyclists and road users, RLJers should be ploughed over. They are literally asking for it.

And of course, your sons safety is *the *most important J.

The natural selection and idiots doing stupid stuff comments are a little different from saying someone deserves to be run over in a very non-joke seeming way in the middle of a very non-jokey post in the middle of a spate of people getting run over. That's why it pissed people off.

  • strawman

    that's sexist

  • that's sexist

    vile whiteknighting

  • vile white lightening
    Ever the Bucky fanboy.

  • Calm down sugartits.

  • Don't diminish me!

  • Calm down sugartits.

Where does one get their hands on these "sugartits"?

  • Come see me sometime and I'll show you.

  • Where have all the cool guys gone?

  • They're all outside laying their jackets down in puddles for angry, bollocks-talking wimmin to step on.
