Punching yourself in the eyes is generally unadvisable.

a dude in the Rapha ride around Regents Park started shouting at a car that was doing a bit of a shit overtaking manoeuvre. All the windows were closed and I don't think the people inside even realised, not that anything they had done justified being shouted at.
On a similar note, some tall skinny geezer doing laps last night pulling in front of a car just before a pinch point, much to the dissatisfaction of basically everyone in the chain gang. Never seen so many head shaking in my life!

Chain gangs around Regent's Park can >>>>
Pulling in front of cars at pinch points is basically a good idea, the road gets very narrow around there and I don't fancy a car alongside me through the section.

Is dropping back behind cars at pinch points not an option then?
-
• #7381
^ Not when you are already in front of them.
-
• #7382
"pulling in front just before a pinch point" suggests to me that they overtook in order to get in to that situation
So I'll rephrase - is dropping back behind cars instead of attempting a dickhead overtaking manoeuvre just before a pinch point not an option then?

Sounds to me like he took primary through the pinch point, forcing the driver to slow down, possibly to the detriment of the riders behind. Guesswork on my part, of course.

Fair enough, I misinterpreted the original comment.

Calling out almost all Belgians. They keep coming at me on the wrong side of the road. Cars are no better.

• #7386
are you in belgium on the wrong side of the road possibly ?

• #7387
No, he'll be on the right side of the road

Hello Mr. big-ginger-beard, red-and-white-geared-condor, black-cap-with-black-stripe-under-white-helmet, and very-worn-3/4-jeans-with-tear-down-backside. You are a bit of a knobber.
The roadworks on the southbound lane of Eversholt Street are very long. There is a good chance that the oncoming van you slapped whilst yelling "It's red dickhead!" as soon as our lights turned green passed its own set of lights when they were also green. This misunderstanding might have been fine and attributed to wrong-side-of-the-bedness.
However, the fact that you jumped all the reds from Russell Square up to Camden Town makes you a hypocrite. "Knowing the sequences" is no excuse.

Backwards snapback cap and Quiksilver bumbag on a Boardman Track with Mike Giant bartape and a spok, just decide whether you're going to skip all reds or not, because the way you skip them (on the other side of the road into oncoming) you won't be skipping many more in the future.

When did it become acceptable to start a chain gang on a strangers wheel?
It's dangerous and unwelcome. Had some stern words with a few people today.
-
• #7394
I find doing a small skid usually shakes people off my wheel
-
• #7395
yup, if i'm stopping quickly and there's any proper roadie douchebags riding the same stretch trying to draft, riding too close etc then i always do a tiny hop skid to wake them up. it's nothing to do with scrubbing speed as I use my brake for that but if they're not paying attention chances are they'll just crash back into me and they tend to shit themselves and grab a handful of brake when you do it.

can we get something to clip onto our saddle rails that holds a little sign just under our saddles that says in a tiny font "no drafting, overtake like a real man or back the fuck off"

sexist

as far as I know I've never had a woman draft me. I think they're probably less likely to want to get that close to my arse.

are you suggesting most cyclists are gay? hence the gay men want a piece of your arse but the gay ladies don't.
Not sure that would safe on a bike either.. The coating must obscure your vision and as for carrying boiling oil around..
