  • Then I got called a "self-hating road racist"

Some of my favourite roads are black.

  • Some of my favourite races are on the road.

  • Some of my fav shoes are lacist

  • I saw someone with browns rims on their bike yesterday

  • This thread should be renamed

"It was only later that it occured to me what I should have said was...."

  • ^Took you long enough to come up with that.

  • Yeah? Well - so are you!

  • I think what you all mean is: L'esprit de l'escalier

  • "self-hating road racist"

    thats fucking excellent

  • what does it mean?

  • 'The spirit of the stairs', I believe. That amazing retort you think of once you're walking off up the stairs (for a cry and a wank, one assumes).

  • Afterwit

  • Like afterbirth, but with more comedy and probably equal amounts of regret.

  • Yeah, I should have told that guy I didn't like his brown rims

  • (Fry meme) Not sure if bad cyclist / minor incident / noddergeddon / etc

I cycled into an altercation at about 4.20 today on Roman Rd (just E of the buddhist centre). Floppy haired short cyclist screaming seven bells at a bald bloke and hitting him with a d lock. It seems that mr floppy was cycling on the pavement and bald pushed him off/hit his bike? About 30 other gawpers and I missed the start so didn't know who was a douche. So left.

  • This buddhism lark isn't all it's cracked up to be

  • ^^ got what he deserved probably. People who cycle on the pavement can >>>>>>>>>

  • People who cycle on the pavement and then attack anyone who stops them with a steel bar can >>>> even more, but as I say I was unsure of the facts and so didn't want to just be another useless rubbernecker.

  • Unsure of situation but saw the start of an altercation between cyclist and driver on Graham Road this evening. Cyclists mate was trying to calm him down but looked a bit serious. Hope it got sorted.

  • "he then turned around and punched the car's bonnet. The driver then gets out and starts screaming at the cyclist" Anything like that? If so it was Someone I know who came off and the angry cyclist was a random who stopped to check if he was ok.

on it like a bonnet mate

  • a dude in the Rapha ride around Regents Park started shouting at a car that was doing a bit of a shit overtaking manoeuvre. All the windows were closed and I don't think the people inside even realised, not that anything they had done justified being shouted at.

  • Bio Racer cap and 'Bike Line' jersey on a metallic blue fixie around Victoria/Vauxhall this morning. Get some foot retention, ya belmer. Also stop running red lights and that.

  • Yesterday 6:00PM-ish. Park St, nr Rose Alley maybe.
You battered your eyelids. I battered mine. We had a moment, which I ruined by yelling "HELMET!".
Awkwardly he fumbled a recognition of "Ah yeah"...

Pet peeves, why wear a helmet if you're not going to do it up?

  • Lady on a roadie heading south on Holloway Rd this morning, very slowly jumped the red at junction of Hornsey Rd just as the light for Hornsey Rd went green. She just sort of bimbled forward whilst looking down at her feet trying to get clipped in. She then looked up to see a fucking massive van about 6 inches ahead of her that'd come forward from the left (on the green) and was waiting to turn right. Think the driver may have had a few words.
