Do you need to consider yourself a good cyclist to recognise bad cycling. Are there certain behaviours that are bad. Is it OK to notice and then call out these things? Is it better to call out people for calling people out, or call out people for bad cycling. Where is the back to my Xbox remote control?

It is the internet you can get away with calling me what ever you want.
And you can get away with pretending you're a hard-man. There's always a swing to every roundabout, eh.

Come on then BCR, plump your chest bumps, give your lips a squeeze and give us your definitive infinite wisdom........ You've clearly got away with saying nothing in particular, about nothing in particular and seemingly been contradictory at every level...... Instead of taking this all as a personal assault, which you really have brought on yourself, you can deny it if you wish to, but with even the smallest amount of respect you've been a complete arse (and not one I want to see in Lycra)
Long story short, get to the point, though I suspect Shelia, you have'nt actually got one....... and based on posts in the last week, you're unlikely to for the foreseable.

You tell a stranger they are doing it wrong? How receptive are they? Read this thread and see the kind of response people get.
I suggest that there is perhaps a better way.

This used to be quite a good thread. Believe it or not, I used to read it and take on what people had observed, learn from other folks mistakes and apply what I'd learned to my daily riding.
All I'm learning at the moment is how to be an annoying prick.

Twat on single speed who undertook me while I wait in the cycle box on a Boris bike at a red light. I put my left foot down, which causes you to lean slightly on those things as the BB height is very high. I actually heard the air turbulence as he passed, that's how close.
Once the light changed I caught him, his first comment 'You can't overtake me on one of those'. Explained that undertaking was pretty stupid especially at a red. He seemed completely oblivious and was more concerned about having been over taken by a Boris bike.
After telling him he cycles like a cunt I decided to carry on with my journey and demoralize him further by leaving him for dead.
you are contradicting everything you said two weeks ago

Not at all, you clearly haven't read my posts correctly.

The way I see this issue, I've never had to see what someone who has fallen under the wheels of an HGV looks like. And I don't really want to.
If avoiding that means denting the ego of a few people who don't like being told "you could be doing that differently/better/more safely for your own good" then my first thought is, oh well, tough. Is that selfish?
I'll guarantee you that in the saddle, just about EVERY cyclist's first response is "fuck off". Mine used to be if anyone said anything to me. I have a theory that it's because your blood is already pounding and you're all fired up. But I know that after a couple of cross words, I went away and later played the incident back over in my mind. And often CHANGED my mind after thinking about it.
Try to talk to people in the street, you should expect to get sworn at. But I don't think that means it won't do any good in the long run.

We all have recently, and the contradiction is clear lady........ maybe for once you actually make yourself clear....... though I suspect you simply can't. Quit the thread diversion and let this thread return to what it's about........ again, I suspect you can't do that either.

I have stated all along that the only time I pipe up is if I have been put in danger. That's the difference. If someone wishes to endanger themselves that's frankly their prerogative.

Oh, and your trolling is truly sub-mediocre. Get better or find another pastime, you're embarrasing.
Number 5, the "You clearly failed to understand me..." manoevre.
When using this move, always make it clear that it was the other person's FAILURE to understand, try to make your post as high-handed and patronising as possible. That will get them riled and give you a position of assumed superiority.
Also, try telling them to re-read your old posts - it's always fun to send someone on a doggy hunt to prove that something you said was wrong. What failed to troll yesterday just becomes the bait trail for today's trolling. No post is wasted. -

So you just carry on with your name calling because someone on the internet has a different opinion to yours.

Yet you have'nt stated all along, the contradiction speaks volumes. The point you make has no difference, shows no learning, shows no understanding and projects abject ignorance to those around you.
You've stated many things, but none collude to any form of opinion, not even conjecture. Getting it wrong is one thing, but not even acknowledging it is beyond ignorance.
Ed, delete this chuff stuffing saddle muncher, I think we're done.

Rain and wind mean the CS7 was completely fuckwit-free this morning at 9.00am. Which is rare enough to be noticed. Bad weather does have its perks...

Good old Number 2: The "You wouldn't say that to my face" ripost.
What can we say about this little gem? It's always a winner! Challenge a man's manliness, make him do the puffing-his-chest-out-dance by telling you how bad he is. Maybe even up the ante by getting back in his face - if you can make him back down, it's a double win! And all from the comfort of your nan's spare bedroom.I notice that you actually have your own, slightly formulaic, take on this one with addition of "We both know...." at the start of all your jibes. Full marks for taking what could so easily be a playground taunt and making it your own.

No, it's really not.
It really is, you might not like that, you seem like the caring type but some people don't want your opinion or concern. That's life. You're free to pull people up when you think you see them doing something wrong, that's your choice, your right, but I am not convinced it's the solution. I think this forum is big enough and more than capable of coming up with a better approach.
