I like this one. Very stylish. Massive arrow in front of them highlighting the fact they have their backs turned to potential oncoming traffic. Impressive.

Sorry Oliver, "GET OUT OF THE FUCKING CARRIAGEWAY" just doesn't scan.

has anyone thought about standing in the road, in a more comfortable fashion?
perhaps we need accessories, like bags? or capes? or comfier shoes? -

If someone is standing in the road - Just standing, mind, not walking, jumping, hopping or bogeling - does that make them easier or harder to avoid?
Depends on whether they HTFU.

I have to admit ...
The guy looking at the phone in the purple Hoody is a friend of mine ... it's staged. The rest are real.I found this guy interesting, he was mostly looking down at his phone, but clearly was aware of the risks and needed to look up now and again to be sure he was in no immediate danger. Perhaps a beginner. I feel his occupation of the primary position of the carriageway is exemplary.

Skully would always prefer the back roads. more opportunity to enjoy the standing in the road. who wants to stand there quickly?
Yep!

Personal favoirate. Some advanced standing in the road going on here, checking the phone (two hands though, more points for one hand), looking a bit like Balki with a beard.
Yeah this guy has got it down to an art form. This has inspired me to get my camera out and see if I can snap someone more skillful than him.
Great pictures Skully :)

Nice edit comment^
My pal was showing me how he thought Standing In The Road should be done. He's definitely quite a sick Stander.

The road [or carriageway] is the standee.
Or the shoes?

Or the shoes?
First, the shoes would be "standees".
One stands in shoes but on a road. I think, however, that a shoe or the road would have equal entitlement to the title "standee".
Perhaps Oliver should be asked to opine on the subject. Or, perhaps he shouldn't.

railroad?
True, you don't get to enjoy the standing the same but standing quickly is an advanced technique that is worth learning.
