I have a GT GTB in very good condition with chris king head set and campag bb - Size 52 (which took me forever to find)
Ive seen loads in larger sizes but extremely difficult yo find in a genuine factory size 52 so can't gauge a price.
Whats this worth? -

I have just bought a Lemond Zurich from a chap at my new job. It's in Reynolds 853 steel, size 53cm. It has Shimano 600 Ultegra Tricolor groupset, Mavic Open rims on Tricolor hubs, 8 speed. It is in great condition and looks entirely original and I believe it to be 1996 or 97. I have "internetted" furiously re Lemond serial numbers and keep going around in circles. It needs new bar tape but it's too cold to go into the garage to fit, so no pics yet.
Q1. Can anyone point me to a definitive list of serial numbers so that I can establish its age?
Q2. IF (note big if) I sold it, what is it worth?

Thanks. Nice buy and looks like it's hardly been used.

Everything works and I'd just pumped up the tyres and raised the saddle before it rained. I don't want a wet arse so I'll give it a spin tomorrow before new bar tape. I've got white so that'll do but was thinking yellow for the graphics or black for every saddle I currently own. We'll see.

The cranks don't look like 6400 (I'm not sure they were available as a triple): VGC replacements will set you back around £45/50.
Is that an FSA seatpost?
Rather a guess, but £300-ish depending upon where you sell.
PS Never try to match tape to anything. Same goes for tyres and cables. :)

You're right about the cranks as they're 105. The shifters aren't for a triple so I'll swap the cranks for a 105 double I have. From what I can find out they should be 53/39 but I think I have a 52/42. I'll have a root about tomorrow.

It's a bastard as they've turned out to be Hollowtech so I either return to a square taper BB and use the 105, I have, or Ultegra or find something Hollowtech.

they've turned out to be Hollowtech
The triples? I can see the crank bolt...
Either way, surely it's worth getting some 6400 to complete the group.

They're probably 5500, so Octalink (which I guess is Hollowtech 1). 6400 would look lots better, I agree.

so Octalink (which I guess is Hollowtech 1)
Ah! I didn't know that.

Won these cranks on an auction attached to a frame, already have a set of prefer to use so looking to sell them on.
Any idea how much they're worth?

Are they rare? eBay sales and the classifieds here, ought to give you enough examples to form an opinion.

Due to not being able to sell the cx bike and being cash poor, am considering putting my look 586 SS conversion up for sale.
Deda zero finishing kit
On-one crankset
Shimano r500 wheels.
Kuota brakes
Anyone got a ballpark figure to put it up for?Apologies for the terrible photo

Not rare no, the price from what I've seen fluctuates quite a bit so thought I'd check here to see if someone had already done the leg work.
Thought it fairer than slapping them up for sale with a silly/misguided price

Get a replacement derailleur hanger: the bulk of your money is in the frame and being SS-only slashes the value. Once you've done that, you'll be able to get a guide for the frameset.
Then split it, obvs.
Wheelset was £70 new, so £40/£50 depending on use and condition. 50% of the new cost of the chainset & BB: having On One branding detracts a little from their appeal. A pair of DP brakes go for about £20, being white will make them harder to sell. Something like £20 for the levers, something like £15 for the stem and a tenner for the bars. The saddle looks pretty beat up and they're around £20 new, so "beers".

If the price is highly variable, then the legwork anyone else has done will also be highly variable.
Nonetheless, here's my legwork: make of it what you will.
A VGC pair with chainring & BB sold on eBay for £150 in Nov. and another VGC set without chainring or BB sold for £100 in Dec.
The recent ads on here are from a chancer and Alexiting, both of whom overpriced them. You'll have to ask Alexiting what he ultimately got for them, but you can see what he didn't get.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this - a colleague at work has a pair of basically new disc brake wheels (Mavic A319 rims and shimano slx hubs, no rotors or tyres) that he says I can have for £140. This seems like a fair deal given the price of the individual parts and I also found something similar in a similar price range on ebay, but am wondering if I should just be patient and wait for a better deal...
Also anyone ever tried something like A319s and disc slx hubs? I expect them to be relatively heavy, but solid - which is basically what I'm looking for in a commuting wheelset. Any input would be great! Thanks

Sounds pricey to me.

I was afraid someone might say that :) will have to put my haggling skills to the test. Thanks for the input
