Oh nice, are you thinking of doing a geared build of fixed?

I still don't know exactly. The frame is a Gazelle Formula Triathlon, built from reynolds 501 tubes. I bought it pretty cheap at 60 euros. I bought it from my local bikeshop. He had this frame lying around for a long time and I really liked it so he asked if I wanted to buy it. It is NOS and the paint is a bit fading.
Maybe I'm going to build it up with shimano 105. But I think I will first build it up fixed. Just cause I can.

I guess the cheap price and tubing doesn't make it compulsory to put gears on it, would look alright tastefully built up either way.
Can't see what's wrong with making it fixed if nothings grinded off and it gets ridden. Liking the nice simple paint, keep us posted. -

^^ Get yourself the ~ 1987 catalogue to see how it would have been built up.

Gazelle was on marktplaats too right? Is it 2x700c?
Nice frame :)

I have checked the catalogues, only pieces about the cm triathlon. On velobase there is one other frame, a blue one, that one also came from my lbs. It is cooler, but wasn't my size. The cm was built up with campagnolo or dura ace, mostly then. This one should be buid up with 600 or 105 I assume. But i have some nice mavic cpx 22 rims on high flance ambrosio hubs. Fixed thoug. So i will check that out first. Also will fit a super record headset which i had lying around.

My 531 model was Shimano 105. Find the Dutch website with all the catalogues for inspiration.

Possibly the only Vernon Barker lo-pro in Australia? 24 inch front wheel. Dura Ace 74xx everything (except for Ultegra/Tiagra 11-19 corn cob cassette -- story found here http://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=36393). Maybe should have gone Mavic GLs but don't like the look when the anodising rubs off.

It's been in porn before, several people commented on the infinite steerer.

It was on ebay I believe..... want to see it built up as a porteur.

Vernon Barker is small - I am about 166cm. 50cm top tube.
BJ was never on ebay - not this one anyway. I designed it in Bikecad and had BJ build it and just took receipt of it in December. Fillet brazed beauty. The steerer will be lopped off soon enough.
Cheers.

either the pic of BJ is quite disproportionate, or i dont see you riding it, if you're comfy on Barker
hmmmgot any pics in action?

That would be such a waste! I'd like to see it built up as a TT rig.

I thought you'd got the 4 spok from Sam Doman the other day?

yeah I did, decided against a tub though after discussing it with a mate, so put that back up for sells straightaway.... think I've got a buyer for it so only losing out on the cost of postage.
Where is it for sale?
