  • ah, moved it forward in a rush. Forgot to correct angle...

  • ...really? I'll never understand how people forget about such basal setup things.

whether my wheel is dished on straight or if my stem has been put on straight or even making sure everything is assembled properly i.e my bolts being tight worries me more than my saddle angle tbh.

  • do you not have time to do both ?

  • As i said i was in a rush. It literally slipped my mind.

  • ok ok, we're here to ensure you get your bike as nice as possible
we're just doing it because we love you

  • I know, I know.

    Better?

  • not really, no.

  • Meh, I cant level out the seat anymore. Unless I move the seat forward.

  • lower your seatpost mate

  • you can dmayn, just unscrew the bolt almost completely and then try to find the right angle with seat post in your hand rather than in the stt. should be easier, and for reference just hold it next to the stt to find the right angle. otherwise, a really well looking bike:)

cheers 1000! Just did what you said. Usually when i tighten the bolt the seat tends to arc downward :s sorted it now though. Thanks..

  • If Cinelli wanted a surefire hit in the retro-reissue business, they should start selling LA84s again. Best looking and most comfortable bullhorn ever

Definitely. I've crashed mine and I'm getting a worrying clicking sound out of them, but I don't want to admit the inevitable because they're so nice to ride.

  • hi this is my lo pro for sale , take a look if you're interested.

  • I have finally finished the Ken James lo-pro. A lot of work put in this one and a lot of hassle too...

I bought the frameset off eBay with 700c forks when the frame is supposed to come with 650c forks. Found forks and front wheel here. I had to get the 1" chrome forks thread lenthened - and there is only 1 bike shop doing it in London (Fitzrovia Cycles on New Cavendish Street, charged £15 for 2 inches). Finding 1" carbon spacers was fun too.

Anyway, CSB and all that. The maiden ride will happen tonight after work!

    Here are some pictures:

    First built with wrong forks:

Now with 650c forks, ready to ride:

  • ^dude you should have said you needed the thread cut further, I could have done that for you before I sent them...

  • Looks so much better now, how come you didn't get the steerer cut at the same time? Needs to slam that stem imo

Do you have the tools to thread 1" forks? I had to get an extra 2" of threading (not cutting).

I could cut 2" at the top of the forks and remove the spacers but I want to see how it rides first.

  • i have access to a 1" die but its a bit late now

  • That's lovely! Not keen on the saddle myself, I know it matches but it looks a bit cheap to me*

*disclaimer: I have no idea what saddle it is and could be brilliant

Thanks mate! The ride from work was pretty good, gears work well, bike feels tight.

The saddle is a Fizik Pave CP Gel with titanium rails - it is a decent saddle which comes with a few scuff guards so I could always turn it back to full black as the yellowness is a tad extreme (frame/cables/tape/saddle)

  • Originally bought this Shorter frame for Slavery - magic gear, risers, deep rims etc, got as far as fitting record headset and primato BB and suddenly developed a fetish for super clean old-school TT bikes with box-rims/silk tubs etc.... Finished the build in May and have been riding it every day since - great fun and surprisingly comfortable - Tubs at 170psi & suntour superbe hubs means it just rolls and rolls! the rainy daily commute has been made all the more enjoyable as a result. Runnning a rolls saddle on it now, but otherwise unchanged.
