Bugger. Only as good as a shimano 10 speed now then [/hippy baiting]
Seriously though, for the amount of miles you have done, this has to be a faulty part. A cog should simply not fail in this way. Looks like a classic example of high standards being wasted by coupling them to poor quality conrol to me.

Jay, let me know if you want to borrow a 10 speed cassette for the time being to tide you over, as I won't be riding them properly for a little while.
I've got 11-25, 12-25, 13-26 and 12-29

Just had a quick email exchange with Ribble. The guy mentioned that he has never had a return for a cog which has broken in half, just chipped teeth. They want the chain and cassette back.
Thanks for the offer Dommy. Might be a bit of a faff with 11 speed changers and mechs. It would also void any warranty!
He quoted 10-14 working days turn around on Campag warranty. 3 Weeks with no gears might be good for me.
I might sneak a 12-25 and a new chain out of this (avert your eyes VeeVee). The replacement 11-23 can go on my aero wheels ;)

so now you're gonnna have a girl size cassette, to match your girl size chain rings?... nice.
sorry to hear about this dude!.... if you're out of action, who i am i going to ride with for the next three weeks?!?!?!
-
• #31
Just realised it wouldn't work anyway, sprockets are too thick, 11 speed chain is thinner, etc. etc.
10-14 days turn around is a bit of a piss take.
Ribble supplied you the part, its obviously defective, they should just replace it and deal with Campagnolo at their end.
-
• #32
That is how it should work, but unfortunately it never does.
Anyway, I got the green light from the boss.
11-25 or 12-25?
Fuck you hoops. I need all the help I can get.
-
• #33
It'll be cheaper to replace like for like, as you already have an 11t cassette lockring.
-
• #34
Dohw! True. Forgot about that. Although they come with a lockring, my hub needs a specific one which costs £35!
-
• #35
Campag never fails to disappoint...
High on bikes will do a Chorus cassette and Record chain for £134, buy a 11-25. Minus £6 if you go for Chorus chain.
Just out of interest I had a look at SR cassettes; £230 for a cassette that weighs 24g more than a SRAM Red casette costing £150. WTF???

11-25 with a compact if it were me. 50:11(119.5GI) is a gear I'd use, although rarely, as is 34:25(35.7GI), and I reckon I could live without the 18T.
For info:
The 11-23 includes- 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21,23
The 11-25 includes- 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,25
The 12-25 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,21,23,25
The 12-27 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,25,27
The 12-29 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,26,29 -

I was waiting for you to wade in Dov ; )
Thanks for the price check. High on Bikes do good service. The combination is £147.
Re. price difference in top of the range cassettes. MAMIL tax.

at the rolla hill climb a dude busted his 11 speed chain just after the cemetry entrance. eek, lucky he didn't himself.
also. who ate all the pies??
-
• #39
This would never happen with Super Record*
Seriously man, nothing would be able to take the power your putting down, SRAM, Shimano, nothing!
*Well it better fucking not!

Anyone want a Dura Ace 7800 12-21 used about 4 times with box? £50?

The 12-29 includes- 12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,26,29Are these numbers correct? I have the 11-25 as 11,12,13,14,15,17,18,19,21,23,25 here
I quite like my 18. 17,18,19 gives me a nice range in the big(ish) ring.

Maybe.

Ribble should replace the part straight away. Start talking to them about consumer affairs or something. Let them deal with Campag.
You have a big charity ride next weekend, right? -
• #44
J - go use the gear inch calc on the campag website; the drop downs will give you the accurate range for the cassettes.
I would link but the site is currently running like arse...

jay.
just fucking use your jesus power and ride the surly everywhere. -

Just a cautionary note on warranty turnaround expectations - I had to return a Veloce Ultrashift Ergo lever around this time last year and was quoted similar turnaround... now convert weeks into months (and at least twice as many emails) and you get the reality. That's not Campag's fault tho', warranty issues in the UK are outsourced to the UK service provider which is not actually a Campag run company.

You have a big charity ride next weekend, right?I have already had a pleasant conversation. My religious lookalike once said something about the meek inheriting the earth. Look what happened to him though.

Rodger, rodger. They list both options with 18 and without. Meh!

11-25, nice to have the 11 with compact.
I had the same about 5 or 6 years ago, 13T on 12-23 9sp cassette at the bottom of Holme Moss. Heard a ping as bits of sprocket hit tarmac and lost all drive and nearly fell off. Freehub was OK mind and I managed to ride home in one gear at the back.
