  • i thought we didn't mention helmets any more?

  • Judging by Granville Arcade today, Tarquin and Jacinta have arrived and will be buying ASAP.

  • I really notice it though by the fact that the roads are smaller, quieter, 3 flower shops and it has that whole 'community' thing going on.

    .

What kind of a community needs three flower shops? You won't even find 3 flower shops on a road containing a hospice and a cemetary.

  • 190K for a large three bedroom flat in an art deco block here in Forest Hill.

We are even on the East London line now, mainline connection to Shoreditch/Hoxton.

Basically - more flower shops.....less bars.

the only thing that trumps flower shops are fields

  • The most notable thing about Stoke Newington Church St is how white it is. The area is extremely diverse but walk down Church St and apart from a lot of the shopkeepers the people are mostly white. It as if little apartheid barriers have been put up at either end. Which suits me fine, I don't want to hear a lot of jibber jabber when I am trying to log on to Mumsnet and drink my skinny latte.

  • Too many lesbians in Stoke Newington, plus don't walk through the cemetry unless you wanna get 'cruised' and/or fisted

  • Is stoke newington even in London?

    Welsh bloke and Portuguese woman?

  • Listen to Pistanator. DON'T COME TO STREATHAM.

  • No, the traffic is terrible.

  • Also, Sainsbury's want to build a big new store down at the bottom, behind the whole food shop so Church St is going to become a traffic nightmare.

Really? Fucking hell. I was considering moving back at some stage.

That said, wasn't Church St always a traffic nightmare?

  • Bloody hell.

  • yet another piece of shit architecture, just like over in dalston. Why does every single new build look like that?

  • Shirley that's about 300m from another similarly large Sainsburys?

  • Ah well - less queuing time for when I need to get my weekly BOGOFs.

  • it's just up the road from the sainsborgs in dalston, possibly the worst shop in the world. The only good thing with it is Mike who plays guitar by the parking lot

  • You can get something like this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-33597044.html

Though it is on an estate many are not nearly as bad as people make out. Though I would make an effort to meet your neighbours before you buy. A benefit is that you get a lot for your money and they are built to last.

This is what i have done to my mums flat so far (Well street, Hackney):
    From

    To this:

  • blimey, top job!

  • Anyone here in the streatham hill area (near the rail station), seen a few nice properties; just wondering what the locations like?

  • Shady bump on that^

  • fuck... just googled my old flat on columbia road certainly wasn't like that in '95 :$

  • Teddington, tw11

  • used to live on criffel avenue in st. reatham hills nice little area 10 min walk to balham tube shopping / supermarkets 3 min walk to st. reatham high street and train station

red light district not to far down st reatham high street i found it a safe and pleasant place to live pubs around the train staion aren't up to much but that was 15 years ago so they may well have got much worse
