And gas? Are you a dentist or something?
Errr, they serve a purpose and easier than pissing about with a pump
-
• #378
you need to read the rules g.

i was wobbling towards getting a seat pack. not anymore....
Don't get internet bullied lad, stand strong, stick to your guns!

Rule 31
Spare tubes, multi-tools and repair kits should be stored in jersey pockets, or in a converted bidon in a cage on bike. -
• #381
I don't wear tops with pockets in, far easier in a saddle pack
-
• #382
i use a Fizik seatpack, so am going to have to agree with Grey Ham on this ( and only this ) point.

I've always used one, because I hate too much stuff in pockets, might as well be wearing a backpack.
Plus I already have phone,keys,money in pockets and need the space for my pants and socks if it gets a bit warm out there.Like the idea of a storage bottle but it won't take my pump and means you are -1 on water bottles
-
• #384
storage bottle! didn't know you could get them. well well well.
-
• #385
I'm surprised Rapha haven't added a storage bottle to their range yet.
The rest of the cycling world make do with cutting the top off an old one. :P

They're still writing the story to print on the inside of it.

I still prefer saddle packs though since you don't lose a bottle space. In 40degC+ Oz, bottle space matters.

I need my pockets to stuff full of nuts and salty winegums, my rain cape, pump, cafe covers, extra spare tube, phone, card and money for cheese straws. The rest of the stuff goes in my saddle bag.
Oh, I need both my bottles. I lost 1.5Kg of water on my ride yesterday. Probably because I am carrying too much kit...

Are you lot going on unsupported cycling expeditions to the inner Niger delta with all this kit you're carrying?
I go out with one of these;
a pump, a couple of spare tubes and a shower jacket, all of which fit very neatly into three jersey pockets.

i need food as well.

• #392
I use a saddle bag (in fact, the pic of my gazelle above has two on it! The shame!).

How much food do you need for a 3 hour ride? A banana and a couple of energy type bars? Or one of these;

I have a wee little saddle bag that takes a tube, levers and a multitool, and I mount a mini-pump on the frame. I know this is against The Rules but it allows me to fill my jersey pockets with the sausage rolls and cans of fizzy pop I need to see me through one of my "epic" 20-mile weekend rides.

Keep this to yourself, but I've been known to use one of these;

I'm off to seek forgiveness from hippy now for using a Contintental product (their tyres still suck).

That's just what I had neatly duct taped on the underside of my saddle, it's always there when I need it.
