A couple of changes this morning:

1) Creation of a read-only usergroup
2) Moved lynx to that usergroup

Basically lynx has stated that due to alleged harassment that he feels he is on the receiving end of on Facebook, that he intends to contact the police.

He has made the request for me to remove his posting permissions whilst still retaining the ability to read content.

As there is no functionality in the vBulletin software to create a read-only permission for a single user I have had to create a usergroup that cannot create content and merely can read the public content. Lynx has now been moved to this usergroup by way of fulfilling his request.

He is effectively only contactable via his private email or other web sites as, being read-only by his request, he is unable to respond via LFGSS.

I will not be drawn into a conversation about what has happened on Facebook (I, not being on there, do not know what happened on Facebook), nor about who the perpetrator of the alleged harassment is.

oldmuthariley ( https://www.lfgss.com/member9870.html ) has been banned.

This is due to suspected fraud comprised of false advertising (quality of item as well as claiming items are certain expensive brands when they are actually very cheap brands), the encouragement/use of unsafe payment methods such as PayPal Gift and Bank Transfer, the systematic editing of prior posts to remove evidence of this.

He uses the same username on other sites and advice is to very strongly avoid any transaction with this person.

Seriously, people spell thing wrong, they get their grammer's wrong (did that hurt?).

But interestingly, people also make such errors on such which means that they door find what they want. I don't come away thinking that everything has to be perfect, just that the titles of the most popular threads should be more right than wrong.
