  • Can we bring back mobile theme, full site is shit on a mobile

  • No. Get a better mobile :P

  • I have an iPhone - its too fiddly with the full site

  • I don't see how you can possibly get "you can advertise in all places as long as you don't link your eBay sale in the forum." from those sentences. It's just impossible.

People are x-posting ads and then making up bullshit about not understanding, what in clear English says, don't post your shit here and on other forums.

Wicksie's point isn't that it is unclear per se, but that it needs to be clearer. I think she has a point. It's a bit like the language of contracts--it's a science all by itself how you avoid it being misinterpreted and full of loopholes, and of course there is constant court action about such misinterpretations. You, she, and I wouldn't misinterpret it, but other people read this sort of thing casually and without paying proper attention.

Now: "If you are selling your item via eBay or another site then you should NOT post it on here as it will be deleted."

Can this be any clearer? English is my second language you see..

  • Who can delete? And how?

  • http://www.lfgss.com/post1556818-1.html and with magic delete powder and an incantation.

  • You got the pow(d)er!

    Ha.
But you changed the first sentence, not the last sentence which is the ambiguous one.

Just sayin, like. As I've said ^ it probably isn't too much of a problem appart from the extra special noobs who have English as their 3rd language.
Ignore this, I'm sure there are better things to play with.

  • Gays have no rights because they are sexual racists discriminating against heterosexuals?

Sorry I didn't play, I'm ensconced in polo arguments so have had my fill. That and this ^ made me laugh.

  • After having read the first sentence why would anyone post duplicate ads?

Feel free to rewrite the second sentence in a clearer fashion but I don't quite get how "If you are selling your item via eBay or another site then you should NOT post it on here as it will be deleted. doesn't convey the message.

  • It does, but

Exception: Other people are allowed to discover your eBay advert and post it in the eBay/Craigslist finds thread, but YOU should NOT do this.
can and has been misread as you can advertise in all places as long as you don't link your eBay sale in the forum.

could be construed as a contradiction to the former sentences where you've said no eBay, but if there is eBay then no link, but if there is a link, then someone else has to do it.

It's only happened once though, so again, it's probably fine.

  • Sorry I didn't play, I'm ensconced in polo arguments so have had my fill. That and this ^ made me laugh.

cunt, this is no laughing matter

  • Homophobe.

  • If you are selling your item via eBay or any other site then you should NOT post it on here as it will be deleted (read the first paragraph of this post again). Other people are allowed to discover your existing eBay advert and post it in the eBay/Craigslist finds thread, but YOU should NOT do this with your own items.

    ?

  • you should put it like,
If you have an item for sale anywhere other than here, like ebay, then you cannot post it here.
If you have posted it on ebay, people are allowed to discover it and post it in the ebay thread but you must not.

  • Now..

If you have an item for sale anywhere other than here, like ebay, bikeradar, ctc, retrobike, etc. then you cannot post it here. If you have posted it on ebay, people are allowed to discover it and post it in the eBay/Craigslist finds thread but you must not do this yourself.

I'm sure VB can change it back if he doesn't like.

  • you should put it like,
If you have an item for sale anywhere other than here or ebay, like ebay, then you can post it here, but only if other people have discovered it.
If people are allowed to discover it, they must post it here and you can post it on ebay and post it in another thread but you must not and nor must they.

  • how about:
if you're going to post stuff for sale, make sure it's not listed elsewhere. or hippy gets a bit grumpy.

  • No, they can not list it on ebay and here, if they have it on ebay then others can post it on the ebay thread.

If it is on ebay THEN IT MUST NOT HAVE A FOR SALE THREAD ON LFGSS.

  • So - keep schtum about your ebay listing when posting for sale threads?

  • Or, just don't list it here if its on ebay.

But most importantly, don't get arsey when you get caught out.

  • No

That would remove the potential for popcorn.

    Troll. :)
