He did have some good DIY tips, but that isn't really our raison d'être.

Rusboy bumping his sales thread, again.
Given that the sum total of his contribution to the forum has been 11 threads and 34 comments and all of them in the classifieds section, would he be missed that much?
I doubt it'd be practical to set up and/or police but it'd be good if there were some kind of ratio of classifieds to non-classifieds posts you had to adhere to.

Why?
There's already a rule about not bumping your own sales thread. Beyond that, what's wrong with someone interacting only through classifieds? If they sell and/or buy successfully either way it's providing a service to other forumers. They might lurk on other threads, you don't know, or they might one day progress to other areas of the forum. But even if they don't, I don't think someone only using classifieds occasionally is a waste of space. -
• #17357
Yeah, a rule which he is ignoring.
@Tenners, @hoefla, fair enough. My way of looking at it is that access to the classifieds is a benefit of being part of the community, listing and bumping a load of wheels and responding to wanted ads to try and punt more stuff isn't, imo, 'being part of the community'. I might be alone/in the minority in thinking like this.

(I was talking in generalities rather than defending the individual, if that wasn't obvious)

I find the nuances of conversation are hard to pick up from text.

Whoever/whatever he/she/it is, both threads are in the wrong forum. Velocio could probably do a bit of hacking to move them to M&M. :)

As kindly redirected.
Oh Gods ! of LFGSS
Could you put Jasmin Muller LEJOG attempt on the front page so we can dot watch her progress ?

Can this thread be made more prominent somehow? We continually have threads where people have been involved in incidents but have taken no appropriate steps at the time when it happened.
Should we have some kind of joining requirements? Make people read that thread and the classifieds rules before being allowed to post? Or have a nursery period/post number requirement and before someone can post their first classified thread they have to read the classified section rules?

Hi there, I numbered all the items in this post 1 to 24 but the numbers all change when I post it, keeps going back to one again, can that be fixed?
-
• #17366
A dot before the number, a dot after.
If you just have number dot... then that is Markdown and is the syntax for making numbered lists, and those always start at number 1.

Went to go fix it and found you'd done it for me!

I still can't upload images on mobile, for whatever reason. They're under 30MB.
I get a server error page, and sometimes the text posts, but the image doesn't.
This is using Chrome on Android. Anyone else having the same issue?

Try one image at a time - post the comment, then go back and edit and upload another image. Repeat.
Tedious but it works for me. -
• #17370
It fails on one image for me. It also fails on multiple, so basically any amount of images.

30mb? 3mb isn't it?

30mb? 3mb isn't it?
It changed recently to make it easier for people to use native phone pix, since the attached image serving wasn't actually using much bandwidth.

Ah ok, thanks! And sorry fizzy bleach, don't know the answer to your problem...
Edit- I generally use Imgur and embed, although I'm sure there's loads of very similar sites that use the same thing.. if you want to give up trying to upload directly I mean
