It's not a demand or a deal breaker, would just be a nice thing to have due to the way I browse the forum. Some agree by the looks of things but others might not

Well, I'm not going to muck with vBulletin at this point.
But... Microcosm is getting a function called "Updates" which unifies all notifications into one place.
Like the network box on StackExchange?

Kinda like this:
http://stackexchange.com/questions?tab=realtimeKinda like that:
https://twitter.com/i/connectFiltered to the stuff you've subscribed to, or has happened that relates to you.
In LFGSS parlance, this https://www.lfgss.com/spy.php showing stuff from here: https://www.lfgss.com/usercp.php
Just the shit that matters, in one place, updating as you watch it.

Not a fan of the live updates, but a subtle indicator near the top that, when you click it, opens a later listing new stuff... that would be ok.
-
• #12907
Well, live updates much like the way Twitter does it... show that there are updates and when you click to confirm you want to see them we show you them.

Could you auto-correct Banana753's spelling of Rapha please?

That's at the single-stream level, the spy page is stream aggregation and I find it less useful than the non-live New Posts page.

Yeah, what I mean by it being a blend of the two is that comments on a conversation will be much like the Subscribed Threads page or New Posts page.
But, if someone has @mentioned you in a post, or replied directly to a comment of yours, then those comments will appear in the updates stream (as well as the general "there are updates in this thread") notices.

Can this thread title be edited to include the fact that he is an odious cunt?

Would somebody be so kind as to move all the lynchman RIPs into a thread of their own so they don't get lost and people can get back to inane goings on in the 'what's everybody up to' thread?

And it will show the stuff that concerns you... that is, the implicit stuff like when you get mentioned in a comment or when someone replies to you, when you get a private message.
Only if your username has an @ added first through right? Meaning that a username without an @ can be used without giving an automatic alert.. Would be useful in this thread for example.

• #12921
Could/should all the RIPs be moved there then?
-
• #12922
Not sure.
He posted as he was dying in that thread. Perhaps that should remain as is.(It's been such a morbid week)

His pain is over. Let it be.

Yes, this.
Except both + and @ work for mention.

David, under Lynchman's name in the members list and on his profile page it now says 'Read-only'. I assume that this is automatically generated by the forum software. Might it be worth changing to something else (or to nothing)?

It will show the stuff "Subscribed" you are subscribed to... that is, the stuff you explicitly are watching.
And it will show the stuff that concerns you... that is, the implicit stuff like when you get mentioned in a comment or when someone replies to you, when you get a private message.
Microcosm can mix the display of these... showing events next to comments, next to messages, next to conversations and classifieds, etc. So it will just blend this together and show you the latest updates wherever and however they've happened.
