I agree with most of those nergs and am tempted to seek out Hippy's "less" post and re-nerg it.

I'm most suprised that andy.w is in the list... everyone else has been quite vocal about nerging, or the nerg victims have been vocal. I'd not realised andy.w was such a prolific nerger.

Seems ok here, if a bit slow.

re. rep
(at the risk of getting mega nergs. I think it's inherently dangerous posting in a thread where it has been graphically illustrated that some 99% of all nergers are reading)Velocio said yeah no meh would be a useful system..
but I think ultimately it will be hard to find a way of having a rep "score", aggregated over multiple reps or nergs, that gives any useful information. someone could be a shit seller but mega lols in the gif thread, or they could have lots of mates, or be older registered, all of which confound the measure but aren't of direct relevance to the useful benefit of having a score, i.e. knowing "this is a decent bloke/I can give him my money for shit"
Soooo
would it not be possible to have a feedback for sales (which could be "white space" i.e. ebay style one line description of how it went)
alongside a rep score much like current one which is just a measure of how banterrific you areI appreciate
- This would just be formalising the bad/good traders threads
and - I'm not sure how you encourage someone who has bought/sold to leave feedback on each other's profiles, without getting loads of faux feedback from 3rd parties since we have no inbuilt mechanism of checking whether a sale really occurred.
But yeah. it would be really useful to be able to click a seller's name and see:
+1: Fast delivery, as described
+1: All good
+1: Missing part but replaced fast
-1: Didn't send for 3 weeks
-1: There was a turd on my saddle
+1: Nice bikeetc. to make an informed decision
- This would just be formalising the bad/good traders threads

It's just going to turn into some pointless argument.Let's close every other thread on the entire forum for precisely this reason too.

re. rep
The solution is probably to stop displaying rep category in classifieds first posts. Since it's meaningless, it's a needless distraction. Do other due diligence on a seller if you're about to send them money.

No it isn't.

This isn't an argument, it's just contradiction

No, you're a contradiction.

I like rep. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when I check my CP and see I've got a few new ones.

Nakita222 has been banned.
This is due to items being offered for sale on multiple sites, and reports coming in that he takes the money and doesn't send the goods. Basically it is alleged that he's a rip-off artist. Whilst I have no proof that he is, there is certainly enough to arouse suspicion in the same few items being offered on multiple sites at prices too good to be true.

The email address for the scam artist is jamaldi@hotmail.co.uk
He generally advertises using photos of slightly older equipment, and those photos come from Flickr.
Aside from general advice like being extremely cautious when something looks too good to be true, I'd also say that it's advisable that people do a reverse image search using Google Images or Tin Eye to see whether the source of the images in adverts is plausibly the person who posted the advert.

And his full name is: Jamal Durrant-Inniss
He's apparently a member of Dulwich Paragon CC.
