I have a really bad knee, bit of balls problem, IBS and fatty liver and haven't done more than 32 miles in one day since last year. I might have to turn back.
Digger told me off today for having doubts - he said that as long I look good all is good. -

Rain isn't a reason to stay at home, It's a chance to see a rainbow!
It will be one big black bloody rainbow on Saturday.

The thing with the DD is that you're never the only person feeling shit, the only person fixing a puncture, the only person with sore knees, the only person who didn't do any training, or the only person getting wet.
THAT is what makes it different from a 15hr Autumn commute...and THAT is what makes it special in my opinion.
As shitty as the weather was in 2OO7 it will always be one of my favourite rides ever because of the people i met and got to ride with along the way. -

See you all on Saturday!
That's the spirit, even if it is a black rainbow! Was just giving my geared bike the once-over and noticed that there's a broken spoke, looks like I may be doing it fixed after all. Need to swap over to my bombproof hipster wheelset and change to 17t cog. Meh!

Besides, I have inner demons to battle again this year, so i'm doing it regardless.

i will be living the brand!
can't wait, no fucking excuses
ideally i would like to leave late-ish and do a reasonable heartwarming pace
as mentioned earlier, i will be using MTB lights for the ride, so should be able to light up a trail ahead
would be nice to from a decent rolling group of experienced riders so we can help people with mechanicals or offer a wheel to people who are flagging a bit

^ It's good to know that if I get into mechanical distress that the pink jersey of Brevet will soon be here to help!
- But on a more serious note James, it would be good to have a few sweepers.

If anybody with a smallish frame wants a free partial frame bag to carry their tools and tubes and wine gums in, I have a spare one now...free to a good home as I made a slightly bigger one for me.
Saves you stuffing everything in your pockets. -
• #1515
Yes, I would like that! Please?

James, we were actually talking about your lights with Laner today. Hoping that you do the DD with your megawatts of brightness.

Go naked under your cape. All the best superheroes are doing it.
Please don't tempt him!

Speaking of lights...If my new Hope turns up, I will also have a spare USE/Exposure turbo light for anybody who needs a really bright front light. Bear in mind that it will only last a few hours if you run it on a higher setting though. It's the same light i used the past few times i've done the DD though.

Classic example of the weird thought process of the prancing one right there ^
Didnt you just order me the whole light department of wiggle?
There's a difference between commuting in grey London and riding in the countryside to the beach.
