  • Yep wheelset is not sensible.
It was more about the paintjob

  • @c0gsucker Looks very effective!
    What's the porteur rack ?

  • TCB Pret a Porteur

  • Strong enough Perfect for carrying drunk mate after pub or new conquest after party

  • I've tried carrying my gf on there, it didn't go so well.

  • I know how it is, I was joking. I've tried with a friend on a homemade rack, I couldn't handle at all ha

  • Don't find the rim brakes on this; in fact the other day I was lamenting that I missed my chance to snag one of these frames.

  • Love this bike

  • @Serling Just saying that if there was a discs model It would have replaced my pompetamine. Still a rad frame doe

  • That's a winner. Are the rack (minoura?) and mudguards on the same eyelets there?

  • Yeah it's a gamoh and it's sharing braze ons with the guards (VO)

Was a bit fiddly but with some longer bolts has worked out well. Angle of the rack not perfect, would be perfectly level if mounted in front of axle, but wanted convenience of using the braze ons rather than adapter.

  • Awesome. I totally hadn't thought of that, but might give it a go. Have some p-clips as a backup, but am certain to hate the way they look. Plus they'll make the rack pretty high :/

  • Just gonna leave my Tour Divide bike here. One month till I get started...

  • Rad.

Definitely worth using the eyelets if you have them, much tidier job. Mine being an old frame I had to re-tap the threads as they were full of rust and crap but holding up ok @tyeness

  • @gabes That looks mint, not that I would know what to do with it! Are you gonna be doing a thread/write up for your trip?

@TM Cool cool, I'll see how I get on over the weekend! Be nice to finally get the thing fitted after tripping over it for a couple of weeks.

  • @tyeness
I got a Gamoh and spent a few weeks with cable ties holding the mudguards in place (Chromoplastic, not as heavy as the VO ones!). I didn't want to share the eyelets like you did because the SKS fittings are quite wide and made of plastic, didn't trust them not to crush/break when I did up the rack.
Ended up spending a few minutes last weekend drilling a small hole through each of the mounting tabs at the bottom so I could bolt the stays straight onto there. Looks reasonably tidy, especially when I get round to mounting them on the inside rather than on the outside.

You might need to bend the piece of metal they give you for mounting to the fork crown. Once I'd tweaked it I got the rack sitting level. You'll need a bench vice and some elbow grease.
(I'll post a pic when I get the chance).

    Yeah, there's a thread https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/255193/

I'll take loads of pics and slowly get stuff up on a blog at some point

  • has rack
puts lock on back of bike

  • Don't love that lock-job

  • @Serling

This is in a gated, enclosed compound (beer garden), at a pub in the middle of nowhere, I could see the bike from where I was sat inside...

... And there were a few other bikes propped up out of shot without locks.

    I would say, low risk.

And @spotter the lock is locking there , I carry it on the rack though... Can't figure if you think I'm transporting it there?
