That's what's buzzing in my head. The bike I've got now (old MTB with fatties and mad spacer stack) really ain't comfortable despite all efforts.
I was eyballing the Arkose 5, especially with trade available, but we've had way too many returns with Rival hydro issues so not as optimistic.
Bikepack for sure, but I really want to keep a front rack and bag, hence keenness on the 920.
Need to see what it looks like in the flesh.
Or just Genesis all the things! -

Got a brand new half a set. I've used the front but I think it'll fit both. It's in red.

You have return with the SRAM system, the Shimano is a lots more reliable (and piss easy to bleed).
Shimano hydraulic is always better than SRAM (especially Avid).
Frankly, the trade on that Arkose is low enough to get everything and replace the frame, it's a good job the rear housing for the disc isn't internal.
Genesis are awesome, but with Evans being Evans, you don't get as good a deal as we do (independent directly from Sportline) with our, including an extra 15% staff discount on top of trade.

Nope, it's off an old city bike, secured with zip ties. It might not be the prettiest, but keeps the chain and my shoes nice and dry.

I'd happily ride that Trek. The one up there looks good^
But. That top tube! :-(

But. That top tube! :-(
Imaging how it look with a slammed -17 stem.
Doesn't look half bad in a smaller size too;

Saw this on the croix de fer thread, I thought it was worth sharing around. The Croix de fer stainless is happily not affected, but I nearly bought one of these.

Ed in small-tyre shocker! The 920 is a 29er with proper handlebars. Total win.

love this, more?

Agreed Scoble. However seeing how happy I've been with my Pinnacle, I'd absolutely get the Arkose if I was in the market for this type of bike, which I'm not right now.

Shitty chainset though. I'd swap that and be happy with it.

Apparently they can be got now. Might order to see what it looks like in the flesh.

They're called a 'mountain bikes'.
LOL. It'll never catch on.
I just got my 920 a few weeks ago and I quite like it. I wanted disc brakes, a sloping top tube and enough room for 40+mm tyres with mudguards. I feel I bought the right bike based on a couple of short rides I've had time for. There's a few additional pictures in Flickr.
