I use Big Apples seem to be doing the trick, shame they dont have Gumwall though
Yup, ended up there. Alas, the prices for the Loop pretty much round house kicked me. Can't justify them considering they'll cost more than the bike itself.
Another question to ye wise folk. What's a good semi slick tyre width to run on a 26" old mtb. Mainly to be used on the road ( hopefully some gravel too) with a couple of rear panniers and a possible front rack? 2.2 too much? I like the look of the DMR Supermoto.

I vouch for schwalbe super moto. and gumwalls look stupid on tyres that big.

super motos are beast tyres.
road them on my fgfs. really quick. good traction. hold up well too. -

They're amazing, but a bit of a pain to get a hold of. Bike24 has good stock, but now I'm left with too many choices. Just settle for some Paselas in 1.75, or satisfy the 2"+ fetish.

I was always skeptical of Big Moto to be used in London due to lack of the Kevlar belt; I got Big apples instead and did 1000+ miles without a single puncture.

Bigger tyres = lower pressure = less risk of puncture.

Yeah I think that combo worked for me; cant remember running them above 60psi ever

Sweet, that's inspiring. I'm thinking 2.10". Any specific recommendations? What do you run on your Oak Ed?

My fbnpna was out of action for a couple of weeks.
It's back now and everything is much better.

surprised that 6800 brakes can take mudguard ... just about though
-

I think I've asked this before, but what is the fattest slick I will find? Big Apple - as above? 2.3/4 would be needed.

Short reach brakes can generally accept up to 28mm tyres (30mm even), if a frame is designed for short reach brakes and mudguard, it'll be mounted slightly higher than usual (e.g. shoes is set almost at the bottom of the arm).

60psi is alarmingly high, usually should be around 30-40psi.

It's 650b, usually 42mm Extra Leger Grand Bois Hetre for daily ride, and Superlight 38mm Compass for event (if the road is above average).

SuperMoto go to 29x2.35. Big Bens or Big Apples are probably more readily available (Big Ben go up to 2.1)

These are the 29x2.35 and they're amazing! i love them.

Bjork looks like she's having a great time.

Ha! she loves being on the bike thankfully.

Lovely bike too. Thanks for taking that last comment in jest as well!

Mounting the Hamax on the seatpost rather than seat tube will likely void the warranty as it's not advisable.
-

The warranty of the Hamax, frame or seatpost?
Brilliant idea, but I can't use the current bars because the reach is absurd.
Found these which look pretty decent. The annoying part is having to mate it to one of those ugly ass adjustable quill stems. 90's mtb geometry is a pain.
