When'd you reckon it'll be out Ed?

Late 2014 I reckon, October maybe, the 2015 line-up is even more impressive nowadays, e.g. the Genesis Flyer is £600, yet it now come with carbon fork, wide rims, 28mm tyres etc.

I get the love for these kinds of conversion but the stems are just hideously fucking fugly.
IMO.
unless you get the incredibly rad ones that incorporate the canti hanger!

^^ Ah yeah thatd be perfect.
I won't be able to afford it until I start my new job in September. -

what rack? x
Or if you don't want to spend too much money on it, you can buy an old mountainbike and put racks on it. Something like this:

That looks like a Basil

I think it's just a standard thing you can buy everywhere in Holland.

doesnt look to have any handlebar struts
Origin8 Classique Cargo HD: want

Nah, it's the Basil/Dutch thing. Either the one with the shorter back or cut down.

There are some great 531at lugged mountain bikes going for a song on ebay. They can easily be converted to city riding, have rack mounts and look rad. One of my personal loves is the Dawes ranger.
That top Saracen is mine! Although I've ruined it in the eyes of any authentic retro grouch (plastic guards, dynamo hub, v brakes, dutch bars, 1x7). That build was done by the guy who originally restored it and sold it to me. They are harder to get to work with drops though (maybe MB-1 would work better as it's designed for mustache bars)
I think the forked stems are awesome, and would like to know how they affect the ride with the super slack old skool geo.

The Jamis Coda Sport make a great everyday bike, especially with steel frame and fork, and reliable 7 speed transmission.
It also have huge clearance that'll likely to take tyres up to 45c I reckon, we had 37c on it before and still a lots of room left.

which one? (im not saying its the origin8)
all seem to have side-to-side supports (pic has back-to-front) and handlebar struts.Nah, it's the Basil/Dutch thing. Either the one with the shorter back or cut down.

Anybody know of a alternative/similar bars to the Groovy Luv's. Looking for something a little different for an MTB conversion to tourer and don't want to lose the trigger shifters so avoiding drop bars.
Jones H bars completely decked me out but they're as rare as hens teeth. These seem like really nice alternative. Can't believe how excited I am about building this thing up.
EDIT. Never mind. Check this out

Charlie the Bikemonger stocks/can get Jones bars (as can my LBS...), they seem to be on-trend at the moment and much easier to get hold of in the UK now.

Yup, ended up there. Alas, the prices for the Loop pretty much round house kicked me. Can't justify them considering they'll cost more than the bike itself.
Another question to ye wise folk. What's a good semi slick tyre width to run on a 26" old mtb. Mainly to be used on the road ( hopefully some gravel too) with a couple of rear panniers and a possible front rack? 2.2 too much? I like the look of the DMR Supermoto.

I run 1.5 paselas, I find them plenty cushy for heavily loaded panniers at around 30psi. I'd run the 1.75s if I was going off road or carrying heavy loads more often

Would this hack work as a solution? Not as neat as new bars but much cheaper
I've come across the Genesis Day One.
Looks pretty perf.
SS, discs, rack mounts, big clearance and not too badly priced complete
