FBNPNA? Forum Bike Nerds _ _ _ ?
1x9 was just related to the fact that the terrain isn't that hilly (I usually manage with an old SS) and I wouldn't be going fast so I thought 9 gears in a wide range would be enough. Especially if it was a more upright cruising and occasional halling bike. 2x9 was based on the idea of having a semi-compact double (something like 48t / 32t or 34t) and using it more for longer distance riding. For something like the Lava Dome which I reckon could take 650B 38mm tyres I wouldn't have thought you require much different gearing to a road bike. I haven't working out the difference in circumference, but from memory I thought a 700c 23mm was only a little bigger than a 650b in 38mm.
Cheers! And FBNPNA refers to this thread ;)

Get a lava dome they're amazing! I wish I'd kept all the others I've had, not just the 93' on the previous page. I'd have a nice collection by now!

Should the rear tyre on the bike section of that have a fatter tyre? If the trailer was fully loaded

all this work and then brakes like that...

and that kick stand is just too stupid.
-
• #3989
The stand would be neat if the pedal didn't have to come off.

• #3990
Would be cool if they could link up an additional brake for the trailer.
Also if it's custom built then why not lower the cargo on the trailer?It's all very pretty but could be a lot more practical imo

This one has got my audax senses a tingling though

Wouldn't work in practise, especially with the variation in weight.
Imaging what would happen if you brake gently in a curve unladen.
Also if it's custom built then why not lower the cargo on the trailer?
Because fuck speedbump.

It should, the bigger tyres would provided a lots more suspension, the original Goeland trailer even have suspension as well as wider tyres;
all this work and then brakes like that...
Brakes are Dura Ace centerpull, and they're very powerful;
The stand would be neat if the pedal didn't have to come off.
I think the eggbeater have those EZY adaptor that allowed you to removed the pedals without tools.
Eggbeater however can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You'd disengage the brake if it was unladen. A quick release linkage wouldn't be that difficult to fabricate. Adjusting the force would be fairly easy.

Really like this, my only regret is not having a pump pegs for the Lezyne road drive.

Remember, even when fully laden, it's never going to be as heavy as a person on a bicycle, and you can still lock the real wheels of your bicycle easily on a descent.
I'm sure there's a reason why a lots of single wheel trailer manufacturer don't put a brake on it.

I loved the steerer lock;
Interesting location for the rear light
Did a search for a single wheel trailer, saw this awesome motorcycles trailer;

The steerer lock is very cool.
One thing I just thought is why not have a dyno hub on the trailer and then you can have another rear light on the trailer itself.

That's a very good idea actually.
Is that a FXE frame?
