I'm wondering if I should partition this list, so that it shows pathracer-type bikes, and other handsome steel OTP bikes as well? I'll give it some thought. Meanwhile, I still think the Pashley Guv'nor, despite its poor reputation for quality, is still an extremely handsome beast. Luverley.

Those Vivas are ridiculous. £1500

they also look a bit more converted from a 'normal' bike than the Pashley which looks built to be like that from scratch

Spot on Balki, for that sort of money you'd expect something special. Even the Ellis-Briggs Fixed OTP (not in this list, but maybe it should be?) is "only" £999.99. The Viva Duro is special though, with twin-tubes on toptube and downtube. I think that one looks tasty.

The Pashley is sold for £800 still using the same old design from the 50's, I'd says that's a rip off.

And the whole fixed-gear resurgence is what, modernity Ed? ;)

It has nothing to do with the old design. More to do with the limited appeal, smaller numbers produced, specific components etc,.
Most bikes are using a pretty old design you know, just a case of putting some steel tubes together at the correct angles! -

What do people think of the new CREME CYCLES of Poland? Sold here by ChainReactionCycles.
I like them. Really nice range. A bit pricey, but still good IMO.

A bit bling for me!

The one example I chose was possibly the blingiest. The others look more subdued.

Does anyone happen to know if any of the bikes listed in the OP have rack and mudgaurd braze ons? It's not something they think to list in the specs, and it's difficult to tell from the photos.

It's a shame that the Creme graphic looks a lot like the Create graphic!

Oh that does look tempting. Thanks for the suggestion.

That one is from this list, but there are others that haven't made this list.
They're both in the main OTP list.

hello everybody. I'm new to this forum so apologies if this is not the right place to ask - I'd be happy to move this to the appropriate thread!
anyways, I've got 300£ (max) to spend on a new frameset, I want to use all the other parts from my conversion. I really do like the "classic" form as you refer to it here, so with thin tubes, no sloping top tube and tight geometry.
what can you guys recommend in this price area? it's just for commuting and riding around downtown, so no tricks or anything...
cheers

The main OTP list.
Start there. ^^^^^^^

cheers GA2G, I digged a little deeper in both this thread and the one you posted - it's probably going to be a decision between the IRO Angus and the Surly Steamroller framesets...
if you have any recommendation about either frameset or if you think I should get something entirely different for my 300£, please do not hesitate to express your thoughts ;)

http://www.bike-mailorder.de/shop/Singlespeed-Fixie/Frame-and-Fork:::548_556.html ??
that's where I found the steamroller (http://www.bike-mailorder.de/shop/Singlespeed-Fixie/Rahmen-und-Gabel/Surly-Steamroller-Bahnrahmen-Fixie-Gabel-2009-schwarz::15712.html) which is - I believe - the best choice in this webshop, and it's 306£.
I also found the IRO Angus in some other shop for about the same price, so that's why I'm not really sure which one to choose...
but it'll come to me ;)
appreciate the help GA2G

I think the Steamroller is less sporty, but more multi-purpose than the IRO. If I were choosing between the two, it would be the Steamroller.
One must think of winter as well as summer eh?

^ Ever the pragmatist Ashe, ever the pragmatist ;)
what's defintely for sure is that it's a million time better than the Pashley.
