  • yeah cool, thank you mister Turd.
    Do they have tyres?
    Anyone any phat tyres spare?

  • I have some spare (rubbish) tyres... I may come along to souths tonight to de-stress and watch, could bring them (depends on whether Joe's coming tonight)?

  • Cheers Jono, if there's some life in them then cool.
may have to stay sober if I'm carrying all this stuff...

  • Anyone any phat tyres spare?

It's a track frame you're building up isn't it? Doubt you'll have huge amounts of clearance...

  • Fair point. I'll assess when I put the wheels in.

I have everything except the stem and risers, but hopefully I'll have this done by next week.
Are there any back up in case Joe doesn't have these? I don't want to pester people.

  • Joe's in... I'll bring you some tyres, I have no idea how good they are... you can either use them or we'll chuck them tonight.

  • might have an ok tyre for the front. ie skidded on the back previously.

  • levers posted today. sorry for the delay, had a bad week at the office and it is only Weds.

  • Thanks so much Dalestar, much appreciated.

I've made an epic fail in assuming that the Cane Creek headset was 1 1/8th when it's 1". Therefore Riks forks don't fit and I don't need Joe's stem. He can't find the bars so I'm back on the beg.

    If anyone has:

    1" Forks, threadless, 140mm steerer
    1" stem
risers ( size depending on stem size )
    Track nuts front and back.

Rik, would you like your forks back?
Or I could swap them with some 1" forks if anyone needs?

Thanks again for your generosity people.

    J

  • I see what i've got for forks.

    What is a track nut?

  • Wicksie, if you can get some 1" threadless forks you could still use the stem (assuming it's a clamp-on), you'll just need a shim.

  • Bolts, for the wheels, specifically track ones for the back drop outs else they'll just slip all day long. Thanks Chukker.

Good point Chris, thanks for the fork offer.

Joe, is it a clamp on? if so, I'll need a longer steerer. And a shim ;)

  • Joni keep the forks, for another bike, for anyone at polo, for swapies, what ever you do with them I will be happy with

  • I have an ugly 1" threadless fork for a 27" wheel that you can have.

    Cheers Rik. Anyone need it?

Thanks V much Matt. I assume the steerer's long enough? I might be running Joe's stem after all.

I'm just wondering if I'll be needing a star nut too, and the headset doesn't have the top bolt part either.

  • john paul just broke his fuji, he's cobbled together an old iron thing that he uses for everything, any spares it would be great to chuck his way. He's polo royalty as far as i'm concerned so anything left over would be great to start building him another bike. :)

    Excellent point.

I have a frame I could donate for another bike. It's my old polo frame. The back triangle is bent, but I rode if for that way for about a year.

yo, I have two frames going freecycle, both with no forks
1st is a road frame, 55cm seat tube center to center

  • riks frame sounds perfect for JP

  • I think Citygent just dibsed it.
    I've PMd JP anyhoo.

  • Ha, maybe then Aidan? Sorry Felix. ;)

Categorically no room for any more stuff Dr. V. Sorry. I'm having a new shed built to accommodate this one and the tourer I'm buying tomorrow. Will be dumped if I bring home any more stuff, sorry.

see if someone ese could store a bike and you could build up another one, it seems great to hae a bike but if two people want to borrow it for a game, it won't work.

  • I still have a girls frame, step through, any good to anyone?

Thanks, but I'm done after this one. I'm happy to give my left overs to someone else.

Yeah but what happens if there are two bikes and three people want to borrow them? That wont work either.

I've got plenty of space for spare polo bikes, I have a secure bike parking for about 70 bikes in my block, and only about 20 are being used. The only problem is getting them to beginner sessions from Bethnal Green.

  • @wicksie - I gave the forks to DT. He said he can bring them to you on Weds. Thanks Dave.
