Right, I need to get this done by Tuesday!
Does anyone have any risers?
And, is there anyone in the SE22 area that wants to drill my brake bridge tonight?

Quick update,I'm pretty much done but ruined the
Seatpost trying to unstick it. Does anyone have a 27.2mm seatpost? Need it before Tuesday if possible as we really could have done with it last week.
Pics soon.
Cheers y'all. -

Hey y'all,
I wanted to ask those that donated if you thought it would be a dick move if I switched loaner bikes to Jon's Archie whilst Margs used this one for the league?
I basically had to throw money at this for mechanics, freewheel, BB, brake-set etc, and am happy to pay for the rest of the stuff that people donated. It will also need some more parts to make it decent.
Jon kindly gave away his old Archie which I thought Margs could use, but it's too small (and a bit fucked) but I think will do for a loaner.
Stuff I used on this bike:
Matt V: forks and cable
Aidan Turd: Wheels
JonoM: Chain & Pedals
Joe: SeatpostStuff I didn't use that I can give back / freecycle
Rik: 1/18th forks
Joe: Ahead stem
Felix: Rear wheel
JonoM: Burro strapsI think, correct me if I'm wrong.
Obviously we'll pass this bike back in to the community when we leave next year as well as the Archie, but I wanted to check with you all first.
Let me have your thoughts and price for the parts if necessary.Polo.

Heh, loved this:

Is it still safe to ride? I don't want t be responsible for newbie death, etc?

They don't go very fast ;)
Apart from the twitchiness of the Archie anyway, I think it's still a bit ropey. I've tightened things and I'd say it's safe yes, just a bit uhm, well-used. Perfect for a loaner.

Seems a shame the decent loaner won't be available but the sketchy one will... Won't that put people off playing? What was Margs using before?

+1, why the need for a different bike?
if it is that much better why not just use it for the league, it is a loaner after all. Keeping it as a loaner for beginners sessions.

She was using Ed's old MTB which is cumbersome to say the least. Fine as a beginner bike but it has a lot of limitations.
The loaner at the moment is sketchy and needs some money spent to make it better, but again I think fine for people starting out, as is the Archie, but I don't think this can be resurrected. Archie was put forward as a loaner initially but I declined as I don't have the room. I spent money on the loaner already and it still needs some work, but I didn't have money for this in the first place so personally won't be spending any more.
It was just an idea to improve her game but obviously it's up to everyone who donated, which is why I'm asking.

x2 max
Don't make a shittier bike for others, I mean how many bikes does your house need? -
• #120
One less which is why I'm doing this.
The point is, they're both 'shit' but one has potential if you want to spend some money.

my 2p
Joni has make the effort to build up the bike and look after it, now she need it, let her have it.
If it wasnt for her, london polo will not have a loaner bike, and at then end of the day, if the loaner is the sketchyone, what? maybe encourage the newbies to build their own polo bikemy forks, you can keep them or freecycle to some other polo players, I will like to keep them in the polo comunity.

Thanks Rik.
We will still have a loaner bike that's fit for purpose.
In my experience at beginners, out of all those that use it, all of them are in the process of building their own one. In a few weeks time we won't need one at beginners until we get more people.
Also, people are borrowing other people's bikes anyway when there are 2+ people without.Again, I'm presenting the facts from beginners polo so you can make an informed decision, and this is literally just for this season until we leave mid next year.
Cheers y'all.

i guess if jons bike is fucked / shit then offer it up / bin it. marg use loaner it stays at your house anyway. dont build a shit bike for people, waste of energy.

It's fine for loaner I'd say. Margs used it y'day and said it's too small for her and the brakes need looking at. I'll buy some new pads and tighten them up.
I'd say that the 'loaner' will still be loaned so in essence we'll have 2 to share and Margs will have it fixed up, which is a bonus.
This means I can get shot of the Moog machine and have my garden back (a little bit).Obviously if Archie is no good I wouldn't loan it.

my wheels were going to be freecycled anyway. your disgression.
Unless the (sproket) threads are not good.
